Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThere were too many wild chickens roaming about and cockadoodledooing early in the morning, but it's Hawai'i!
This location provided a lovely view of the sea and the island across the way. The pool is small. but nice. There is a decent restaurant on the premises with dinner available but no breakfast. The restaurant provided a delightful female singer with a guitar accompanist. The room and linens were clean, the pillows and mattress were comfortable, and there was a working ceiling fan, microwave, fridge, and coffee maker. The television and wifi were functional and the water was hot.

United StatesMy room, while very clean, did have a strange smell. I couldn't place it but it was mothball-like. And the walls are a bit thin which wouldn't have been a big deal except for the noisy kids in the room next door. My room was also by the pool and there was a lot of activity at the pool until late (mostly from the kids in the room next door). None of that is the hotel's fault but it would be nice if the pool closed at say, 9pm, so the property is quieter at night. You don't go to Molokai for screaming kids at the pool (you go to Maui for that), you go to Molokai for peace and quiet. All in all, if you're spending a night or longer on Molokai, this is the best hotel to book and I would definitely stay here again.
The staff was terrific, very helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable and well-equipped and the water view was great. The grounds of this hotel are lovely, it's a little tropical paradise on Molokai. The sunset views were amazing and the restaurant was convenient and very good. When it comes to hotels on Molokai, the options are very limited so the Hotel Molokai is definitely the best choice.

United StatesFacility is dated--some stuff is just worn down-the AC was pretty loud.
Staff, location, cleanliness was great---it is wonderful when the staff doesn't give some kind of tourist hype--and just tells you honestly information.

United StatesThe original design of the room has natural ventilation---BUT when the wind is down--it is not enough to keep room cool--the air conditioner unit in our room was pretty loud--but it needed to be on. The bed was pretty high off the ground--it was comfortable but it if you fell out of it it was pretty far.
The staff --all were good problem solvers--and any question/any issue--they worked with me to resolve. And they never presented "it is not their job" attitude. The hotel is located right on the water with a magnificent view. The facility is dated BUT is pretty well maintained.

BelgiumThe pool is quite small, but then there are excellent beaches all over Moloka'i.
We had an ocean front room and we can recommend this very much. It gives you an ocean feel day and night. It has a terrace facing the ocean, great to have breakfast or an evening drink. The restaurant too has plenty of seating close to the waves. It has nice fresh food and drinks.

GermanyI booked a better room with kitchen and ocean view. The ocean view was just a side view from the balcony. I was told at reception that I would have to pay an extra fee $45 per night for a direct view of the ocean and that I didn't have a kitchenette. There were no basic ingredients such as salt and pepper in the kitchenette. I was graciously lent a salt shaker and told to bring it back to reception at the end. There was a coffee machine and coffee for the first day, but there were no tea bags for the tea drinkers. There is no opportunity to get a breakfast at the hotel.
The room is equipped with air conditioning. WiFi is free. The entire complex is very well maintained and clean. There are many palm trees and flowers in the garden. There are hammocks available. The hotel is only 5 minutes from the nearest town and 5 minutes in the other direction to a beautiful sandy beach. The Restaurant for Dinner is an excellent one.

SwitzerlandIt would have been convenient to have a simple breakfast option on property (eg coffee selection and options like bagels, some fruit and granola), but there is a nice bakery and a coffee shop just five minutes out.
Beautiful ocean front location with a view. Grounds well kept and nicely set. Staff was super friendly and helpful. We had an ocean view room and it was great to fall asleep to the sound of the waves.

United StatesNo - zero food available on Monday’s and before 11:30am. it is 2mi to town which has limited options, especially Sunday and Monday. we came off of a boat and had no idea there would be no food available. there is a microwave and refrigerator and dishes etc. but if you don’t know that you need supplies or that the grocery closes at 2 on Sunday and most places are closed on Monday, it can be a problem. it should be made very clear that food options are restricted.
the only hotel on Molokai, it was clean, beautiful grounds and well run.

United StatesThe property, like much of all of the Hawaiian Islands, is full of roosters, who feels an intense need to start crowing at around 3:30 each morning. Outside of that, we all absolutely loved everything about our stay! The hotel and restaurant staff are extremely friendly, helpful, professional, accommodating, and efficient. A+ for them all!
I wish they offered breakfast every day!! Breakfast is only available on Sundays, but it is outstanding!
