Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

One Chinese restaurant very close by but nothing else in walking distance. That is where Anthony comes in. He drove us downtown, on request, at least twice to enjoy the downtown area and some excellent restaurants Note: this is an utilitarian motel. Sure not fancy or scenic. A clean place to crash for the night but that’s it.
Anthony, the shuttle driver, was the most accommodating and informative driver of our stay in Alaska The hot breakfast was an added perk.

Plastic waterproof mattress pads were noisy when turning over in bed. Room was extremely outdated. Gap in door to outside, could see light. Smallest TV I’ve ever seen in a hotel room; not a big deal, but was odd.
Breakfast was good, liked the fact bath sink was outside the bath so someone could shower while someone else was getting ready in front of the mirror.

It isn't walking distance to downtown, but I knew that from the maps, but it didn't matter because they provided a shuttle service for free. I was more than happy with the facility, but some might find it a bit old. It's a motor inn, not a fancy hotel after all.
It's not a modern hotel, but it was more than adequate for our two night stopover. I loved that they provided a shuttle service for free, we were picked up from the airport, the next day taken to downtown and picked up again, finally we were transferred to our next hotel. Breakfast was also included, I hadn't expected that. There is a great value restaurant next door.

This hotel feels quite outdated. I didn't like the beds – there's a plastic foil cover on the mattress, and you can hear it rustling every time you turn over. The hotel is very close to a busy road, and the rooms aren't well insulated, so you hear traffic noise all night, so we didn't sleep well. Additionally, I noticed some homeless individuals going through the trash near the hotel in the evening.
We stayed here only for one short night, price was attractive, but next time I would pay more for a different hotel.

Nice hot breakfast was served daily. Good shuttle service to the airport, train station, and to the visitors center downtown. Room is very basic and dated, but clean. Hot water in the shower was fantastic, within seconds, no long waiting. All hotels in Anchorage are expensive in the summer, and this hotel was my cheapest decent option.

The staff were super friendly and helpful. Although the facility is away from downtown a shuttle is provided to assist with transport duties. The breakfast included was a bonus and this place is recommended to stay over when visiting Anchorage.

Our room, though clean, badly needed refurbishing, especially the bathroom. On one occasion, the shuttle schedule was somewhat unsatisfactory. We rushed breakfast to help the staff combine two trips, and then found that we were ready half an hour early and the shuttle had already left.
Except for one experience, the staff were very helpful. The location was good for our purposes.
