Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesDid not realize that the booking was through Vacasa, not the hotel directly. WILL NEVER BOOK WITH VACASA AGAIN. Upon arrival emailed Vacasa that TWO of the wall outlets had been pulled from the surface mount on the wall leaving exposed live electrical wiring (lamps were plugged in). A toddler could easily contact the exposed wires and become electrocuted let alone the risk of the wires sparking and causing a fire. Additionally the screen on the sliding door to the lanai was at least 50% torn free from the mount on the bottom rendering the screen useless. As there is no air conditioning, it is necessary to leave this unprotected opening open at night for cross ventilation. Good for the mosquitos, not for us. Vacasa returned all of my emails promptly stating that they were contacting the site person to repair - NOTHING was ever done in the THREE days that we were there. Cosmetically, the box springs on two beds were torn. Drapes were partially off track, minimally operable. Finally, the road near the room is a major artery and there was a lot of traffic noise late at night and in the early hours of the morning. I had stayed three times before at the hotel, rented directly from the hotel, and never had a problem. If I were to return, I would rent DIRECTLY from the hotel and request a room at the waterfront, farthest away from the road.
location is excellent for travel; outside grounds are well maintained. Did not use pool. Ate at restaurant once; service excellent, food very good, but expensive

GermanyThe bathroom in our unit was absolutely horrifying. Covered in what looks like mold. The throw pillows on our bed were filthy. The patio tables were ducktaped together, and the outside screen was missing an entire window. We had an issue with a very loud knocking sound (apparently from water pipes) until almost midnight the first night. The second night, we had yelling guests keeping us up all night. The wifi did not work. We paid over $500 for two nights. You could not pay me to come back to this hotel. It's a real shame, because we loved Molokai, and the people were wonderful, but this hotel was by far the worst place we have ever stayed. We have traveled to over 20 countries and lived on 3 continents. We have seen a lot. But nothing like this place. Awful.
The hotel has a good, central location.

United StatesWe had a little snafu with the key box, main desk not helpful because we rented via owner, not hotel itself. But contacted owner and it was quickly remedied. Biggest issue was extremely tiny "sugar ants" that were quick to swarm anything even remotely sticky or sweet. But that's just the nature of the tropics!
We stayed at Hotel Molokai in about 1993 and again about 2011. Loved the Polynesian flair then, and has been updated (paint, added kitchenette and 2 queen beds). Although we had not previously stayed in this exact room, we know it would have been comparable to other rooms originally. We've loved the open air style (screened louvers) that allows us to hear roosters crowing beginning at daybreak (yes, we love the country feel).

United StatesThe screens on the unit were not in good repair. We had a lot of mosquitoes in the room. We also some problems with ants in the kitchen and bathroom.
The location and grounds were lovely. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed Molokai and liked the ambience of the old motel from the 70’s
