Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe space in a room with double beds is really tight but it’s expected in most NYC hotels

We had a beautiful room with the view of the city. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was clean. The hotel is located in a perfect area for tourism. The staff was super helpfull and nice.

AustraliaThe frosting glass on the bathroom perhaps needs to be a little darker.
The staff were welcoming, friendly and professional. They were amazing and so helpful. Being far away from home and being welcomed in and out of the hotel meant a lot. The views were brilliant and despite the room being smaller than we expected we made it work! Loved the atmosphere of the hotel and felt included to use the nightclub and other areas of the hotel despite us being a little over the clubbing age😊

CanadaSome of the information was contradicting (i.e. the signage in the elevator lobby notes that morning coffee is available daily until 10am but it was typically removed before 9am). Also, if you are staying on the upper floors, you will hear the music from the night club on the 36th floor. We were on the 31st floor and were told that we wouldn't hear it but we did.
The location was great, perfectly located for exploring the city.

FranceMoxy rooms are always on the small size especially if you are a family. The Rooftop was loud too at night.
The location is great to explore Manhattan. Lots of restaurants and bars nearby. The hotel has lots of space to chill in the hotel. The Breakfast was very good in their Cafe too.

My view was excellent: The Empire State building The room concept appealed to me. Bed was okay ( sorry my mattress at home is excellent) I did enjoy returning back from an activity and the room was smelling good. No problem that the cleaning was done every 2 days

United StatesRoom was very small, no place to put clothes, keeping suitcases open made it tough to walk around easily, sink not in water closet is not great, too small for 2 ppl, parroted to me by a couple outside as I questioned them when I came to property. Also, guy at the desk on my checkout annoyed me with your $30 resort usage policy, said I could NOT use the $30 in the night and in the morning?! What is THAT? Why should it matter when I use my credit, esp if I'm only there till 11am. AND, the hotel software didn't properly treat my charge from the 1st floor restaurant from the first night, I had to catch the mistake and get them to credit the $23, so there were 2 issues on the bill.
Linens were nice (I may get them for my home), decor was fine, new, bed was very nice, value was good, location was central to my intended visitations.

United StatesThe elevators and hallways were extremely hot, and do take a while to get on — so prepare to wait.
I had a lovely stay at Moxy NYC Chelsea and would highly recommend staying there. Isham at the front desk was so bubbly and helpful, huge thank you to him. My room had a beautiful view of New York City, was modern, and had everything you needed. I liked that there was a desk and chair that you could easily collapse when you weren’t using.

GermanyI was disappointed about the Rooftop & Bar/Restaurant at 2nd floor being closed for the whole of my stay (Sunday until Tuesday) which I was not expecting and it was mentioned nowhere. Even though they say it's closed every Sunday & Monday, so why is this not in the fine print?? I would have booked another hotel since that's why I book nice places and their advertised facilities! Not just to be able to use the downstairs tiny car/bar which was crowded and I could not even find a seat. Very strange! Also there were a ton of hidden fees, when I asked staff why I got charged more than on booking.com he could not tell me why and just said "the system does it all automatically" which is not an acceptable answer. A mini fridge in the room should be standard too for this price tag.
Loved the views from my room, I booked the bigger room which a little desk and had enough space to move around. I loved the Hotel's design and decor etc, especially the retro phone and the cool bathroom features. Staff was lovely in general and the area of the hotel is nice and easily walkable, some nice bars, restaurants nearby too. I would recommend the hotel but not on a Sunday/Monday if you look to go and use the rooftop/bars

United KingdomDark lift - struggled to see the buttons Room cleaning - every other day around 5pm which is not ideal as you’re usually in your room getting ready. Roof top bar requires ID - this could be pre warned on check in. Could use a mini fridge - as I had diabetic medication that needed to be kept in a fridge. But the rooms are very compact for this.
Comfy beds, great view, good shower pressure and good location. Staff were friendly and helpful whenever I had a query. Good working aircon which kept the room cool during the heat. Felt safe around there being a solo female traveler. I could walk to Times Square or walk to Meat packing district. Subway is around the corner too. Coffee at the down stairs restaurant is good too!
