Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesOne area where we saw room for improvement was in the condition of the room itself. Upon entering, we were met with a very strong mildew-like smell, which lingered throughout most of our four-day stay. At times, it became so overwhelming that we had to open a window to air it out. The smell was especially noticeable when we first entered, as though it might have come from uncleaned mops or equipment used to clean the space. While we’re not certain of the exact cause, it did detract from an otherwise enjoyable experience. Additionally, the AC unit was incredibly noisy throughout our stay. It made such a loud sound that we decided to turn it off and rely on the fresh air from the open window. While this worked temporarily, it left us cold during the night and wasn’t the ideal solution. Finally, we feel compelled to mention the safety concerns regarding the bunk bed setup. We booked a Queen Bed with a bunk bead on top of it. Unfortunately, this proved to be a significant hazard for my family and me. During our stay, all three of us hit our heads very hard on the bed at various times, and my wife’s injury was severe enough that it brought her to tears. My daughter also struck her head, not just on the bed, but also on the ceiling of the room. I personally hit my head multiple times and narrowly avoided serious injury to my wrist while trying to adjust the sheets during the night. This situation caused considerable distress. Lastly, the ladder to the bunk bed was missing one of it's support brackets which made the ladder wobbly and unsafe. While we can’t overstate how much we valued the service and unique touches your hotel provided, it’s important to be transparent about these issues, particularly the hazard posed by the bunk beds.
Fantastic hospitality and service we received during our stay, as well as the hotel's excellent location. Everything from check-in to the overall vibe of the property was smooth and welcoming, which we truly appreciated.

LebanonThe rooms are not very spacious but also not totally uncomfortable to move around in. The breakfast is just a grab and go so that's not a meal you can rely on at all.
The location was very good - walking distance from food places and stores. The rooms can be a bit loud at night because of its location but all in all it's a good compromise for how central it is.

United StatesGreat hotel in a perfect location. Our stay was pleasant with one hiccup, super loud music on Friday until late and even though we were 12 floors away from the bar we could hear it like we were there. Other than that just a great hotel to stay right in Midtown Manhattan.

United StatesThe location was fantastic! We were able to walk to everything we wanted to see and do. The hotel has a fun and funky vibe, and the check in on arrival was swift, and friendly! The complimentary drinks on arrival are a nice touch. Our only complaint was the lack of a fan for the bathroom so that when the shower was used it left the room humid and smelling of moisture. The room was small for three adults to spend any real time in it, but was perfect resting place for the night and to refresh between activities.

PortugalOur room was at front of the elevator that made some noise.
Everything’s was great! The hotel is super modern, the staff was always helpful and friendly. The room was not big but it is enough for 2 persons and the bed was really comfortable. There was a small buffet with muffins, fruit and water during breakfast and they give us 30$ per day from the destination fee to use in the caffe near the hotel for breakfast. I was afraid after reading some reviews of this hotel but in fact it exceeded our expectations, definitely my recomendation for NYC.

IrelandThis was a special sweet 16th birthday trip for my daughter and the MOXY NYC did not disappoint! From the moment we arrived all the staff greeted Grace with happy 16th birthday! They had our room decorated with compliments and had treats layed out for her! I’m only giving it a 9 out of 10 as our TV acted up almost every time we switched it on, apart from that this place is fantastic, MJ at check in is just so so helpful and could not do enough for our stay to be fantastic. I’ll definitely be back!

Netherlands- The mattress could have been more comfortable (especially the one in the bunk) - Prices of food and drinks in the bar are crazy high - Limited amount of restrooms in the bar area so you often had to line-up or go back to your room
+ Location is super central and close to main subway line(s) + Room was super spacious for NYC standards + The room was cleaned daily + Free pass for crunch fitness gym around the corner + $30 credit for the bar or cafe per day + Modern interior and vibes

AustraliaThe rooms are very small, no side access to the bed in the room I had so shuffling in from the base of the bed. I also couldn’t reach the blind as the bed was in front of it. My room was terribly noisy, no sleep even with ear plugs
Free grab & go breakfast & $30 to spend at the bakery or bar each day. Great roomy shower & good location to Times Square / Central Park etc

United StatesVery small bedroom. Sink in the bedroom is a style, but not one I’m a fan of. Lights didn’t work either. We had to call an engineer into our bedroom at 2am just to be able to turn the lights on.
Staff was wonderful. Very helpful and attentive. Bed was very comfortable and water pressure in the bathroom was great.

United KingdomI did feel it was a little noisy in the night time - mostly due to hotel guests coming in late. Not a major problem - to be expected when there are so many night time offerings! I was staying alone and it did feel a bit like uni halls/dorms sometimes. For the price it costs, I would have loved to have been able to order food from the restaurant and have it delivered to my door, rather than having to go to the lobby for collection.
The hotel is very buzzy with music playing in the lobby and lots of people (incl. hotel guests) visiting Bar Moxy, Legasea and Magic Hour in the evenings so this is perfect if travelling with friends or even alone as there's a lot to do and people to meet! The bedroom floors are only accessible to those with key cards which means you are 'protected' from the outside world. The hotel has a great location on 7th Avenue in walking distance to so many of NYCs attractions, bars and restaurants. The staff were very helpful throughout and everything in the room was clean and tidy. The credit to use in Bar Moxy or Cafe D'avignon was a nice touch and the food/drink on offer here was gorgeous!
