Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SwitzerlandThe title says renovated, but this must have been awhile ago. The kitchen is tired. It was not that clear in the announcement that you share the kitchen with the 4 other parties. This should have been more clearly stated. The walls between the room one and two are very thin, so that you hear the others talk.
The setting is beautiful, with a large garden. It was fun meeting the other people who shared the common space and kitchen.

SwitzerlandThe only things we feel like mentioning are these: - the way to the house is a bumpy unpaved road and we had trouble several times with our lower sports car to get there without damaging the underside. I know this is nothing that the owner can change and comes with the perk of the seclusion of the house, but we think this must be mentioned more clearly to guests before they decide to book. Due to the seclusion, you should thus bring your meals with you as we arrived late and didn‘t dare to drive the way back to town again for dinner so we had to eat what we had left instead of being able to make use of the well-equipped kitchen. - no cell phone connection and the wifi instruction is not so clear from the beginning. Hint: the / in the description mail separates the wifi name from the password ;) - our bed was a bit ‚bumpy‘ and shifted when one person moved. We checked in the morning and the bed seemed to have been missing one wheel. If this was repaired, the bed would become a bit more stable. - the property can be used eg for weddings, so behind the pool is a whole walk-in area that looks a bit messy, because there‘s the outdoor kitchen, unused fridge, etc. If the owner added cupboards, curtains or similar to the part then you could hide away all this equipment. As it has doors at the entrances, you won‘t immediately see this area and it didn’t bother us, but there is some unused potential :)
This was one of our best stays! I wished I could have stayed longer than one night. The house, area, and room are beautifully designed with modern furnishing and a fully equipped kitchen. The filtered water is delicious. So many lovely details that make this place cozy! The garden is adorable with lots to discover, areas to relax and stargaze at night. The pool is beautifully lit at night, although not heated so you can’t stay in there for too long while stargazing :) In the morning, i saw a little desert rabbit going through the garden. Please note that it is in natue, so lots of animals to observe and discover, this only added to the magic! It is secluded, so you won‘t have light pollution. And the room is small, but spotlessly clean with beautiful furnishing/design and everything you need. The checkin was fully remote and worked seamlessly. We also enjoyed meeting the other people in the common areas and have a little chat while there are enough places for privacy if needed.

United StatesThe walls were paper thin. So much for trying to sleep! The people in the room next to us were having some intimate couple time which we felt like we were part of for an impressive 45+ minutes. The room was super small too, the photos were very misleading. I could hardly bend over to shave my legs in the shower.
The bed was comfortable, and the room was very clean. Location was close to Joshua Tree entrance and downtown Joshua Tree.

United StatesCheck out time was too early. Usually is 11 AM in other bookings.
This place is just 5 minutes away from the west entrance of Joshua Tree National Park. Therefore if you are planning to explore the park, this is just right perfect! Instructions to check in and check out were very straight forward to follow. You have enough privacy.
