Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThere were no towels, had to go & purchase one from a store. As well hand & body soap weren't provided. The hostel lacked cleanliness, especially in the restroom & shower area.
The location was close to Little Italy & right next to the freeway. The employee at the front desk was very helpful & polite.

The staff was accommodating, and design of the facilities was pretty cool. Hell, I could never sit outside like this after working all morning. It's not like I'm on vacation. Just between residences ya know what I mean m?!!?

United StatesThe place has a very strange check-in hours 7pm to 10pm, didn't noticed that until after I booked it. Within one hour I tried to contact the business to ask if they can accommodate my schedule which I would be out from 4 pm to 11 pm so I was hoping to check in before 4 pm. The phone never got answered and I sent voice messages, no call-back. I sent email too, no response. On the booked date I called a few times in the morning and finally got answered once, the staff told me that I can check in earlier with no problem, just call him when I get there and his cellphone number was going to be posted on the door of entrance. I made it there at 4 pm due to traffic, the entrance was locked and there was nobody at the facility. No cellphone number was posted on the door for me to contact. I patted on the windows around the building and asked if anyone was there, a female guest came down from second floor and told me that the staff was not here and she didn't know his contact info either. I was ghosted! I ended up having no place to go to for the night!

United StatesIn the summer time, no air conditioning in the rooms. I bring my own fan to help keep me cool. Even though the word "Hostel" is in the name, it is not like other Hostels. You need to bring your own toiletries (shampoo, soap), TOWEL, and, sometimes, toilet paper (they sometimes run out). Again, though, this doesn't bother me (because I am aware of this AHEAD of time ...) The checking IN and checking OUT times are limited. Different times are posted, but, in reality, they are no where near accurate. Checking in is like 7pm to 9pm. If they know ahead of time, someone can be there for you until 10pm or so. Checking out is 9am to 11am. In their "TV Room", there IS a TV, a big one, but I was unable to get any stations on it (it could have just been me - user dumbness). The Clientele isn't as much "International" as other "Hostels". There is no partying or established activities going on (but, in fact, I LIKE, and prefer, it this way. It is quiet, and homey).
Each stay is a wonderful stay. It is only fair that I share this ... but I am reluctant, because I am afraid that if it gets out what a gem of a place this is, it will become more crowded, less available, and the price will end up going up ... It has a full functioning kitchen. It is quiet. The showers are hot and good pressure (I used the 'stand alone' shower). It has a skylight in there. I liked that. A convenience store is a couple of blocks away. Restaurants, also, are close by. A, relatively, short walk to Transit Station through iconic Little Italy area. You can see the water and boats that are in the Harbor. It's NICE to see blue sky and blue water on a sparkling San Diego sunshine day! It is not like other "Hostels". There is not a 14 day, per year, limit for stays. (See below, or above, for other differences from "Hostels")
