The rooms were well appointed, large, modern and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel is about a 10-15 minute drive from La Jolla, but it was very quiet and having free onsite parking was great. There are some great restaurants and coffee shops within easy walking distance. There are also some beautiful ocean views just a few easy block away. We loved buying amazing baked goods at Wayfare Bakery and coffee at Bird Rock Coffee Roasters and then walking to the benches that overlook the beach and enjoying our food and the spectacular view.

Odd lighting in the unit. Light switches in odd locations. No UBS outlets or lamp at night stand in the bedroom with two queen beds.

This property was aesthetically pleasing, clean, spacious and comfortable. Nice balcony with comfortable seating for two people. The staff was kind, friendly and answered our questions about the surrounding area for dining options. There are a few places to eat within walking distance of this property.

Great location in Bird Rock very clean with a nice heated pool the room was big and we had a small balcony only negative was not having tea/coffee making facilities in our room, everything else was excellent

It's a small hotel and did not have any vending machines, although there is a CVS just up the block.

We really liked the clean room and a comfortable bed. I actually would have preferred the bed to be a bit firmer, but we slept well and I think most people will find it very comfy. The best thing about the room, and something that this place did better than most, is that the room is actually dark when you close up the curtains. They also didn't use any heavy scents or smelly cleaners, just a clean crisp room.

Biggest bummer was there was only one nightstand and reading light on one side of the king bed. Very strange to not have two. My husband and I had to arm wrestle over who got it (I lost). There is also a lot of street noise, as it is right on a main road. But, it did quiet down a lot at night.

I really liked the location with easy walkability to restaurants, coffee shops, etc as well as to beautiful beach vistas. The room and property were very clean and tidy. LOVED having an outdoor balcony - definitely one of the best features to have an extra place to sit and also to let in fresh air through the sliding door. Lots of modern features in the room and the shower was super. Also really appreciated the free parking.

I wish there was a coffeemaker and table and chairs to sit. There was a table and two chairs only in balcony.

Unfortunately the people in the room above me were 6:00am risers and I was awakened by their walking around, and other noises they made, so my ceiling was pretty thin. That was my only negative, all else great.

The room and bed were very comfortable and well equipped, loved my little balcony where I enjoyed some meals I carried out. I could walk to the beach, CVS, grocery, and most any other places I needed to go plus a bus route. The swimming pool was warm and lovely. Denise at the front desk was THE BEST with her outstanding customer service. When I couldn't get a Lyft or Uber for a time sensitive event, she suggested and got me a Yellow Cab which got me there on time. She also gave me great restaurant recommendations. She is a true gem!!!

Honestly nothing, this was a great place.

The bed was so comfy and everything was extremely clean and well taken care of. Later in the week we stayed at a $400+ a night and we preferred the comfort and convivence of Sands Of La Jolla more. Didn't use the pool but it looked well kept.
