Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Water was not warm and the heater didn't work well.
The room was clean and updates to the property were noticeable. Accommodated my pet with no issues.

The outlets were not working properly. All were loose. Had to use a surge protector and unplug the clock outlet to charge phones.
Service and staff were amazing! Decent breakfast.

quality of the breakfast. would love to see cold water to drink, anything natural and less sugary, protein.

Room needed painted -- very noticeable. Window curtains would not stay closed. Loud noises next door both nights.

curtains not hanging up and we’re pinned together so people in pool area couldn’t see in. bath floor hadn’t been cleaned.tiny area to eat and only a couple things to choose.

The place could use some updating but for the price, it’s okay. There was no elevator (but there are only two floors and I need the exercise..just thought you should know). Breakfast was all carbs, so we didn’t eat, but not a big deal.
The location is very safe (it’s surrounded by a corn field but is not far from eats and shopping), the room was clean and smelled good. The beds were a little lumpy but were actually very comfortable. The bathroom was clean. The lady at the front desk was very nice. We didn’t swim, but the pool is actually pretty nice. The air conditioner worked great and good water pressure in the bathroom.

Price was a little more than it should have been. Even with a discount from Booking. $198 for one night two rooms. Then the next day I check prices and the exact same room was 67 a night. So I will probably shop around next time.
We have stayed here multiple times since 2014 traveling to see family in Iowa. Staff is always friendly, Beds are clean and comfortable Pool is clean and refreshing after traveling 10 hours from Georgia. Consistency is nice!

not happy with the breakfast. a little more effort--some water? better fruit? would raise our reviews greatly. cleanliness was sub par, but when we pointed it out, staff was very helpful.
this hotel is well priced and perfectly adequate. location very close to McKendree University. enjoyed outdoor pool.

Unfortunately there were a couple of people hanging out 'partying' in the parking lot. Room was ok, nothing special but it was clean and comfortable.

The City of O'Fallon had over did the water supply with chlorine. That was shared on social media. Unhappy residents. It was so strong we didn't use the hot tub.
The rate,minimal charge for a pet. Quiet

I didn't particularly dislike anything, it's just a pretty cheap place to stay. I guess the smell could be a little nicer, it had a stale cigarette and cleaner smell.

WIFI and breakfast.
Rooms were comfortable but dated. WIFI was not very efficient. Kept cutting off. Breakfast not very filling. Best showers I have ever had in a hotel.
