They don’t clean the rooms daily unless you ask….so you have to go looking for towels if staying for more then a day. some weird stain on the white sheet when we arrived…it was taken care of right away though. bathrooms are very tight for family of 4. Bar/restaurant very small selection of food.

Can’t beat the view or the pool. Every room has a excellent view and the kids played in the pool nonstop! staff is friendly.

the ONLY downside was that there was a really bad smell by our room but it was only noticeable when walking outside of our room/building not any other time.

loved the gorgeous location and all the property had to offer!

I found it interesting that at this price there were no glass and no cups for coffee. a small detail that makes a difference. was able to get to glasses for wine at reception. coffee was in cardboard glasses. Their are several Canada geese on the property and beach with discuting excréments that we’re not cleaned up. there in no maid service as such algues on the beach were not raked

Thé room on the water, cleanliness inside, nice dining room with a view breakfast was generous and gods kayaks and other water sport equipment available and included though we did not use any because of the weather. fire pit

Our particular room did not have heat, so a bit chilly. Property can be a challenge if you have mobility issues.

Spotlessly clean. Comfortable beds. Thick lush towels. Stunning views. Wonderful staff. Superb breakfast. We loved it. The couple of hiccups were noones fault. We had so many hotel stays over the years that were simply lousy properties presented on a carefully crafted website. This Inn is the real deal. Furnishings modern and well themed without being tacky. Just lovely.

The rowboat had water in it from a recent rain. We had to bail out the water before we could use it. But it was worth it.

Location is perfect, the view is fabulous, pool is wonderful. Love the use of rowboat, kayaks and the fire pit. Breakfast is very good!!!!

It is very isolated, almost at the end of a road leading to water. No places to eat, nothing lively. Good thing there is a bar and restaurant there. It’s right on some water. It badly needs plugs by the beds for charging and phones. There was nothing in my room.

Nice staff, very clean. Nice restaurant and bar on the premises. There is a swimming pool and kayaks available. Nice view of the water.

Bathroom was tiny. Handrails to get in & out of tub weren’t secure. Expected breakfast to be better because the restaurant was pushed but I’ve stayed at Hamptons & Comfort Inns with better breakfasts. Staff we met were pleasant but check in started at 2pm and they weren’t there till about 2:45pm. (And I had called in the morning to confirm the time.) Got drenched walking to the door in the heavy rain then could not get in because it was locked. There was a note but still.

Location was great. Most rooms, it not all, had a view of the water. Room was fairly clean.

Foolishly I didn’t have my swimming trunks, so I couldn’t use the complementary canoeing equipment!!! There’s no complementary swimsuit. Lol.!

OMG, what a fantastic experience and the most wonderful staff. Might be a family, who are working extremely hard to make everything just perfect but they are incredible. The location is sublime and facilities mind-blowing but the breakfast takes the prize. The bloke who wears the cookie 🧢 also appears in the garden with the mower but he knocks out a delicious breakfast. Thanks again for letting me stay.

The staff. They said I couldn’t sit on a towel if I wasn’t swimming. Well I’m paying 350 bucks a night, I can sit on a towel. If you don’t want me to use a towel, clean your chairs. During low tide, extremely stinky, couldn’t even open the door. Not the hotels fault, but disappointing. Decoration was nice but hotel was definitely dated. Breakfast didn’t open until late.

The room was decorated very nice.

    Nothing.

We had a beautiful, well appointed room, with a nautical flair, and a wonderful view. The pool was very nice and we liked the accessibility of the kayaks. The definite highlight was the breakfast! A complete breakfast with fresh eggs, bacon and sausage, fresh pastries and fruit. All made in house. It was a pleasant surprise after more than one hotel has boasted a full breakfast only to serve eggs from a carton and pastries that came in plastic.

We enjoyed the breakfast buffet and dinner was wonderful at the restaurant on site. The room was nice and spacious with comfortable beds and the deck was nice to view sunrise and sunsets. Very close to town yet far enough away from the touristy area. Stopped here for two nights on our way to Bar Harbor to visit our daughter at the Jackson Lab and would definitely stay here again when in this neck of the woods!

Overall cleanliness, but the hotel staff was accommodating when requesting to change our room. We noticed a spider crawling out from the bedding, so we further investigated, and found either a dead beetle or a dead bedbug in the door jam leading to the deck. Had to retrieve toilet paper from the office because no spare rolls were left in the bathroom cabinet. Strong smell of sewage in the harbor area but we are experiencing a hot summer. Parking is tight.

Nice view of sunset. Outside deck area had a privacy divider which was nice. Breakfast was a nice touch.

The property has definitely seen better days and shows some wear. But it’s clean and comfortable nonetheless. For the price point we could overlook its flaws.

Smugglers Cove is an awesome property for family stays with great food and lots of activities on site for everyone. Super cute, affordable, and overall a win win for our whole group.
