Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustriaThe only drawback was the limited parking availability, with the nearby parking garage being quite expensive; however, the hotel was upfront and transparent about this issue. Despite the parking inconvenience, the rest of the hotel experience was satisfactory, making it a worthwhile stay.
The great location on the road leading to the White House made it very convenient for sightseeing. The room was impressively clean and well-maintained, offering a pleasant and comfortable stay, while the flexible check-in process added to the overall convenience of the experience.

United StatesWhen you have a guest for 12 nights who requests a check in a 1/2 hour early you do not try to charge an extra $20.00 when he paid $1460. The room was smaller than a shipping container on a ship. There was no dresser, rack or closet to hang clothes. They want to be paid to use the TV. They wanted to be paid to change the linens and I stayed for 12 night. Check in was 4 PM but their code was not working to enter at 4:15 when I arrived. I saw tis happen to 4 other guests as well. A day before checkout they were texting to find out what time I was leaving with full knowledge that ch check out was 11 AM. So they try to not let guests in and hope you will leave early.
The location was excellent. The best part of my stay was check out.

United KingdomCheckin - online, horrible, and no alternative way to do it. Took me (and my son) a half hour to get the app to take the photos and to accept the likeness. We called for help and basicly got none, just someone whose only strategy was to get us to do the same thing again and again until it worked. (2) The room initially given me was a tiny dark room in the basement with a small high window. Not worth the price and very disappointing. I switched rooms which involved traipsing from one end of the hotel to the other 3 times with a person on the phone who couldn't tell me where the stairs were. (3) Filthy stairs (4) Breakfast - tiny packets of granola, left out the night before and all gone by the time I showed up.
I enjoyed Dupont circle, this hotel was a 10 minute walk away. The 2nd room I was offered was pleasant after I flushed the toilet (something floating in it) and climbed on a chair to turn off the a/c (it was too cold in the room, and remote control missing).

AustraliaI did not receive their SMS instruction for online check-in for some reason and when I arrived there was no on-site staff to help me. Had I not with my colleague who had checked in, I would not have ben able to enter the building to start with. After exchanging messages via the Bookings.com several hours and making a call to the help number, I was able to obtain the necessary codes for my room. Also, the luggage locker was broken and we could not get our luggage. The staff who answered my phone call arranged someone to come and open the locker. That particular set of lockers was very old, and the door was crooked. All these took several hours and it was not until 7.30pm before I was able to relax in my room.
The location was good - short walking distance to the Metro station, a supermarket and restaurants.

GermanyThere was no place to hang the towels in the bathroom and the bathroom door was broken. The house is very loud, you get earplugs for free.
The hotel is old, but clean and maintained. Fridges in the basement and the first floor allow for food storing. The location is off the center (bus services are unreliable, but cheap walking works too), but the area itself is really nice. Very good restaurants in the area.

United StatesFreezing hallways. Ran out of bottled water for a day. I asked for fresh towels, in an email and chat, two days before I checked out. I asked twice. I never received fresh towels before I left. Luckily I saved one bath towel to reuse for my checkout day shower The young caretaker told me she had been off for two days. But it wasn't her fault. The messages I received said they got my messages and that the towels would be refreshed by someone. Later I learned there were fresh towels in a cupboard in the lobby bathroom. It would have been helpful it there was a notice in the room telling me where to get fresh towels if needed.
Clean, plenty of heat from the room heater, snacks and coffee available in the lobby. Friendly staff when they were present. Comfortable bed.

GermanySadly the window was broken and there was no hot water until the last 2 days of my stay. They got me an additional radiator for compensation since it got kinda cold in my room. I was okay with that but quite a price for a cold room..

United StatesMy coffee machine in my room was broken, the one in the lobby was broken. The snack trays were always empty. My room was extremely loud. My AC was broken and the remote didn’t work. I asked my coworker to look at it and someone else and everyone concluded it was broken. As a result, my room was extremely hot.

South AfricaDirty bedding & it was a mission to check in
My bedding was dirty, there was a blood stain on it. I contacted the team who mentioned that I were to get clean bedding in the cuboard and change it myself. Also the check in process is so inconvenient especially without a local phone. I had to ask another guest to use her phone upon checking in early hours of the morning. I won't recommend Sonder, I'll rather pay a little extra for peace of mind and convince.
