Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe continental breakfast buffet is somewhat sparse, The only warm food option is bread and bagels, if you choose to toast them yourself. The coffee was good. Also, this place is intended for couples. If sharing with a plutonic friend, just be aware that the bathrooms are open to the room (except for the toilet), so privacy is minimal. We managed fine, but we'd stayed here before so we knew the layout.
I have celebrated a number of quiet birthdays here. Greeted warmly and discovered welcoming champagne and resort hats in the room. The grounds are bucolic and peaceful. The rooms have been updated. The interiors have been painted in a rustic whitewash (huge improvement over the exposed wood, which made the rooms feel quite dark). Each room boasts its own enclosed, private back patio. The fire pit adds a special charm to the communal area.

United StatesThe F word was showcased in The Barn restaurant area. Don’t understand the reason for the vulgarity in an otherwise delightful room.
Quaint and quiet.

United StatesNot a darn thing was bad
This hotel is one of my favs. Love the redesign to make the space brighter than the last time I was there. It was hot as hell in the desert but the made sure to keep the whole area cool and refreshing. The rooms were spacious, private patios on point, and of course, poolside life was exactly why we came here. The staff is also amazing and helpful throughout the day.

United StatesAll was wonderful, but the walls can be a bit thin. The room next to us showering or bathing late at night was very loud. The wonderful experience of this place out weighted that though.
The Sparrow was such a nice relaxing place with wonderful hospitality. The perfect spot for peaceful holiday. Hospitality was top notch and so friendly a welcoming.

United StatesFood and drinks were excellent - everything from the complimentary breakfast to the two dinners we had there, and all the snacks in between. The pool was lovely and we always had available lounge chairs. The property was very peaceful, even on a busy weekend in Palm Springs, and the staff was attentive. We hope to go back regularly.

South AfricaCouple of hiccups. We requested an extra bed in our room and were advised via email that we'd be charged for this, then when we arrived we were told that extra beds are not possible due to fire hazard laws. We requested the massage service but told an hour later it was not available due to availability. At 1pm we reserved dinner for 7pm. When we arrived for dinner we were told there was not seating available outside in the beautiful, romantic, candlelit garden, but instead in the small indoor reception/lounge area which was not ideal. Were we told this when we booked we would have simply booked dinner at one of the other 50 other restaurants in town. We were advised we should have booked at least a week in advance. On checkout we were told our bill for expenses incurred would be emailed to us; it was not. We were also told the manager would call us to discuss our experience staying at the lodge, which did not happen.
The accommodation and facilities matched what I saw online. The location is great. The staff are friendly. The food and beverages are good. There were small personal touches that were appreciated. It was a good stay, but not without issue.

United StatesOur room was never cleaned during our stay, even though we hung the YES sign out daily. Also, we asked for extra towels a few times and did not receive any until the day before checking out. Also, we were told the chef was making eggs Sunday morning, but the hostess seemed to know nothing about it.
food was great loved the atmosphere in the barn staff was friendly massage tent was a nice added bonus

United StatesWe enjoyed everything -- might be nice to have suggested quiet hours for the pool/jacuzzi, but that's it!
Loved the unique style and attention to detail around the entire property, sort of a glamorous adult summer camp vibe. We enjoyed the fire pits, the pool, the stone showers in the rooms, and the artwork/design around the property. It's clear that a lot of love and attention to detail was put into the lodge. Breakfast was yummy, staff was friendly and attentive. Appreciated that the music was chill and not too loud around the pool. Our whole stay was super relaxing -- we'll be back!

United StatesEverything was exceptional — dinner, drinks, pool/spa, room, linens, etc. That being said, the best part was the staff. Shawn (the chef), Abbey, Colby and all the others on staff were so kind, attentive and genuine. I can’t remember everyone else’s names (Audrey?), but they are the biggest reason we would come back. Thank you!
