Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe room could have been a little more clean. The bed and bathroom areas were fine, but the room needed to be vacuumed.
The inn was updated since my most recent stay. It was lovely. The staff were friendly and responsive. The buffet dinner was delicious. I love hiking in the state park.

United StatesBreakfast was definitely overpriced and only adequate. There was only a buffet available. The food was good, but it lacked any sort of fruit. (We could have ordered a fruit bowl, but at nearly $40 for two, and neither of us big eaters, we didn't want to pay any more.) I will offer praise for Beth, our waitress. Very personable an good at what she does.

United StatesNothing could be helped - rain, rain, rain.
Booked 3 rooms. 2 were excellent. 1 was just OK, mainly due to size. Meals were all buffet and were pretty good. Servers were excellent.

United StatesOur plans had changed and we were expecting an extra person on our second night which I explained to the concierge when we arrived. She said it would be no trouble to get a cot or an air mattress the next day for them. However, when I went to get it the next day, it was a young girl working and when I told her about how we were supposed to get a cot she said that they couldn’t find the cots or air mattresses. There were not many guests staying at the inn so I was very confused about how they could have misplaced all their cots within 24 hours. We ended up driving to Bedford to get an air mattress ourselves so that we didn’t have to pay for a whole second room for the twelve hours that remained in our stay. I would still stay here again but I wish the staff could have been more understanding and a lot more helpful.
The property is beautiful and secluded. The pool was very nice we loved that the indoor and outdoor pools were connected! The lady that checked us in was very friendly and the check in process was easy.

United StatesThe dinner buffet. Was expensive for the food quality. The barbecue had that fake smoke taste and the fried chicken was very dry. The food was edible at best.
The location was beautiful. The lodge was ok. Needs to be cleaned up a little. The dinner buffet was over priced and food was not very good. I did enjoy my stay. The area and grounds was very nice.

United StatesThe elevator was broken, which made it difficult for me. I have severe arthritis in my knees and carry suit cases up and down stairs was hard. My husband who loves to eat. The food could have been better. Was disappointed in the breakfast it had no flavor and I would have preferred to have fresh eggs made to order. The oatmeal was crusted on top. The eggs were nasty and cold. The lighting in the room was awful. I brought sewing to stitch which was difficult to do. I also brought a book which I didn't even try to read because the lighting was to dark.
The quietness of the room perfect. You didn't hear your neighbor at any time. It was perfect for a quick get away.

United StatesThey are closing for a while for much needed renovations. It is very much showing its age and needs a refresh. Still, you can appreciate what it was in its peek grand years and for what it offers today.
The staff is amazing, everyone so kind and helpful. Trevor in particular is someone that truly understands the hospitality business. Rocking chairs were so comfortable, and I enjoyed sitting in the beautiful grand lobby with my coffee. I also liked the popcorn machine in lobby as well as the indoor/outdoor pool. Location in a state park is exceptional...great walking trails and pioneer village to explore.

United StatesThe hotel is a bit dated, but they are closing in November to be refurbished. I love the history of the inn, but it is in need of updating inside.
The lady at the check in desk was so nice and went out of her way to make sure we were well taken care of. We had dinner in the dining room. Again, all workers there were wonderful and the food was country, down home and delicious. I plan to stay again in October.

United StatesGetting your luggage to the room is challenging. Room is rather tight and was not completely clean but minor. Fridge didn't have a freezer compartment which is important to me. Checking in before 4 pm seemed not possible even though the place was mostly empty. Restaurant prices are a bit on the high side.
Great place to stay if you want to explore this state park. Staff is friendly. Nice restaurant in the building. Rooms, beds, pillows are comfortable. Nice lodge-like feel to the place. Good size bathroom. View of the woods.

United StatesThey do not tell you that you also have to pay to get in the park (which for the prices of the rooms I find it slightly rediculous even if it's under $10 but you do get a pass and it gets you in and out for the length of your stay) It was a bit bigger than expected (the inn) it seems more quaint and small in the pictures so it was a little misleading but it's actually fairly large and quite a few rooms. I wish it was a little more spaced out room wise. They had a wedding somewhere in the park and the inn hosted the reception so it was quite packed with kids and people. It would have been nice to know as a simple couple and not part of the party. I would have rather been placed in a different hall or floor. Otherwise, things were great.
I love how secluded it was and how much there was to do there in the park and locally within a 15 mi radius. There was dining inside the inn itself and a full game room, an inside and outside pool, an entire back patio with a small area for a campfire with rockers. It was beautiful. Food and activities galore onsite at the inn itself as well as a gift shop. We had a wonderful time. The scenery itself was the best part. It was like walking into history walking inside the giant masonry walls and huge creaking wooden doors. You could feel the years and they have kept this little gem amazingly upkept and clean. I will definitely be back.
