We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United StatesThere was so many roaches in the room I had to clean the fridge before putting anything in there. I would also have to check my bed to make sure they weren't in there. Oh yeah the room was so dirty I had to buy cleaning supplies to clean and it took the horrible cat urine smell out of the room.
It was very quiet compared to asking people who stayed there in the past

United StatesThey were obviously overbooked. He sent me and another customer to the same room and I was confronted and threatened by the other customer. Because he only had one room even though mine was reserved. The room smelled like a wet dog 🤮

ItalyEVERYTHING. It was a pig stye and the Safety of the vicinity was extremely questionable. Also, the manager was aware of someone housing cats, when they were asked to leave they DUMPED the cats in the parking lot. And the Manager NEVER Reported that? That's animal abuse that was not reported to authorities. The room was COVERED in dead bugs and literal piles of dirt. Cobwebs were everywhere, there were holes in the ceiling, a hole punched in the door, the a/c unit smelled of mold, mold growing on the floorboards and doors, spit wads stuck to the sink, grease splatters all over the stove, bed sheets with gross stains, the smell, the bathtub looked terrible. The noise level, the safety, and the rude after-hours staff made this one of the MOST miserable places I've ever stayed. I have never been so frightened and disgusted at the same time. I would NEVER recommend this place and hope that this gets someone to review this entire place.

United StatesThe staff that stays in room101 allowed my MALE GUEST TO ABUSE AND HIT ON ME. She also ALLOWED HIM ACCESS BACK IN MY ROOM WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. SHE LIED AS IF SHE CALLED THE POLICE AND SHE DIDNT. HE THREW ME AT THE TV, THREW ME AROUND THE ROOM AND SHE ALLOWED HIM BACK IN MY ROOM AFTER SEEING MY CONDITION. SHE TOLD ME NOT TO KNOCK ON HER DOOR OR CALL HER AGAIN. BUT U WORK HERE RIGHT? Roaches in the room that was "newly renovated", gnats everywhere, washer and dryers NEVER WORKED. VENDING MACHINES ALWAYS TAKING YOUR MONEY. HOUSEKEEPING STEAL. THE WORST 1,087 IVE EVER FKN SPENT.
