Great stay especially if you're visiting Legoland

I flew in with my daughter for the weekend for a day trip to Legoland and stayed at this hotel from Friday through Sunday morning. The hotel was beautiful, comfortable, and in a great location. I only stayed 2 nights but this will be my first choice when we come back for a longer vacation.

Hotel was beautiful. Kitchen/dining area small and extremely busy. Waited 15 mins just to order coffee and even before ordering, multiple servers kept telling me someone would be right with me without even asking if I was helped yet.

The food is overpriced and underwhelming. The young gentlemen and staff that served me were great but it was below average and expensive.

The lobby is nice. Love the fire pits outside to gather with family (although not enough of them when busy). Love the heated pool and that it's the "quiet" pool. My kids are grown so we like the adult like feel. The grounds are nice and the beds comfortable. Beautiful views and close to freeway and beaches

Did not know parking was an extra $32/ night! For a $300 room I think parking should be included. They have a sign at the front desk saying $25 off any food & beverage. They told me I didn't have to do or say anything, charging to the room, the $25 discount would automatically be deducted. It was not. I had to call the hotel & ask about it. They apologized & said it should show up in a few days. I'll bet most people miss this. It was New Years Eve and there was someone giving 1/4 glass samples of champagne. Nice. Went back for a 2nd one & the server asked if I had already gotten one. Yes, I said, so she said after that I had to buy it at the bar. Fair enough. But next morning checking out, the desk person asked me if I had enjoyed the "free champagne" the night before. I felt that was a stretch. Yes - I was not charged for a 1/4 cup sample... Out at the pool area a guest was playing music on their own portable phone speaker. I rather enjoyed it, but I found it strange that the hotel didn't have their own music playing. I also wondered why they would allow this - but like I said, I was enjoying it.

Comfortable bed, spacious, clean room, great pool & jacuzzi. Pool view of ocean is glorious.

The hotel had difficulty finding our reservation and it took about 30 minutes to correct their error. We were double charged a “tax”. The lobby restrooms had no tp on all 3 floors! The bed was lumpy.

You have to pay for parking. They give you a $25 credit for it and charge $32. The breakfast is not free, for the options provided, it's pretty expensive. The room cleaning Crew knocked on our door 3 times on the day we had to check out between 10 -11, even though the check out time is 11, and in spite of we telling them that we will check out at 11. It was as though they wanted us gone. Didn't leave a good taste in the mouth and it was unwelcoming. Shows there's no coordination or it was by design.

The location is great, walkable from Legoland. The front desk staff were great. The room itself was big with a balcony and sitting area outside. The beds were comfortable. It was neat and clean.

The room was extremely HOT to the point where it was uncomfortable to sleep and had to leave the balcony door open. I sent a message to facilities to come and fix the AC and they didn't come. There's also no microwave in the suite. The brewery nextdoor has amazing food But I ordered for pickup to SAVE THE 23% room delivery service and the people at the restaurant were extremely upset for whatever reason that I didn't get the room service and decided to pick up the order myself. The parking is underground and if you have a lifted truck past 7'0" it won't fit due to the Parking lot having pipes all over the ceiling that are lower than the 7" FYI.

Love that there's a walkway into Legoland only about a 5 min walk from the hotel, there's a bar inside the hotel with good drinks, there's 2 pools and a small splash pad for the kids in the "neighboring hotel" and there's a total of 3 hot tubs and some fire pits which you can make s'mores in. The beds are really comfy but the lay out of the room should be different for the 2 bedroom suites. You also get a $25 a day credit which you can use for breakfast at the hotel or alcohol which was nice, but you need to use it that day or you loose it.

Our room reeked of dog urine. It was so overpowering. It gave me a headache. I talked to the front desk and they said they would have it cleaned, but there was no evidence of that. Because of this, we will not stay there again.

There was a “rust” stain at the bottom of our toilet… it would not go away. People do not want to see that every time they use restroom. Change the toilet. It’s was a great room with balcony, other than that.

The hotel, in general, is nice but shows its age and some wear despite a recent-ish styling upgrade. The hotel's placement makes the freeway noise a big factor, and it's always loudly present if you open a window to enjoy the sea breeze or views. To top it off, the ancient AC in our room was so loud that it made it difficult to have a normal conversation and went on and off all night waking us up several times. Their pool and surrounding area were also nice but very crowded, so the pool, jacuzzi, and fire pits are at a premium. There is no pool attendent, so used towels are abundant and everywhere.

The hotel sits directly above the flower fields, so our views were amazing. The room was large, clean, and comfortable. Safe parking. Nice staff!

Close to Legoland, map not to scale. Adequate accommodations, could be better
    • Leisure trip

The accommodations were OK, the bed was horrible. Thin mattress made for uncomfortable evening to sleeep. Plus, queen feather pillows really don't work for a good night's sleep. Why not have a separate light switch for the shower/tub and the bright big mirror? When you wake up early in the morning, the frosted glass on the bathroom door does shine very bright... waking up the other person in the room. Too bright if you ask me. When you close the curtains, and the room is pitch black and you need the bathroom, you will stumble because there is no nightlight to get you to the bathroom. I had to use my cell phone as a flashlight. Very dangerous, especially for kids. One could fall down. I found myself taking tiny steps back to the bed, hoping I was not going to hit a door, a chair, table. A very small gift shop... more like a kiosk, where no one is assigned it to. You have to pay for it at the front desk. This does not make sense. If you are close to an amusement park, why not have concessions, gifts for your customers to buy as mementos. Starbucks/Bar really does not work. If I want to go to starbucks and stand in line there, I will do that. This combo does not work. No one to tell you that you need to stand in line at the bar, to place your food order. What's that all about? Then wait to see if the servers bring your food to you. I watched servers ask each table that had people sitting at it if these plates were their orders... not organized, not properly staffed. Not much to choose from on the menu. When we checked out, I reviewed my bill... what exactly is with all the fees? I understand the local and city taxes, but assorted fees? Are they really essential, needed? Probably not. Most reviews say it is ridiculous to have that fee there.

Location was close enough to Legoland to walk to it. But the map the hotel gave us is not to scale. You really do have to walk at least 1/4 mile to get to the Legoland hotesl parking lot. The room was adequate. 4 Queen size feather down pillows on the bed for a king bed. Th eblackout windows do work. I did like the hand/body lotion, the shampoo and conditioner, nice natural scent. This hotel is trying to be more eco-friendly by not having plastic containers like mini shampoo, soap, etc. Room came with small refrigerator which is needed for all the water you need as you use the air conditioner, you get real thirsty. There is a pool to swim in, its called a quiet pool. We did not use the pool. The check in was somewhat easy, except for the confusion on my last name. When we checked in, the employee tried to add me to Hilton Honors, but there was some problem with their system. It said my name was already listed. It is very easy to have the same first, last name. I said that is not me, I am a native Californian. I even presented my driver's license. He had the issue of trying to enter my name/address...

We waiting over an hour for our breakfast to be served. The waitress came once to take our order and never seen her again thereafter. When our food was delivered, they had missed an order. The manager took off the drinks from our bill for the “inconvenience” and extended our check out by 1.5 hours. Overall, besides this incident the stay was pleasant.
