We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The hotel and service were fantastic, if anything, I would say the photos online don’t do it justice. We would definitely stay here again, the rooms were spacious and far larger than some of the others we looked at in Manhattan. If you are looking for landmarks, the Empire State Building, Flatiron, Grand Central or Chrysler building are all within walking distance. Lovely relaxed hotel restaurants and bar.

We absolutely loved The Hotel Chelsea. Wonderful history, ambience, location and staff. Everything about the hotel speaks quality. I doubt I’d want to stay anywhere else in New York. The rooms are large with beautiful understated decor. It was everything we wanted and more.

Location was perfect for where we wanted to visit. The staff were really lovely, helpful and always friendly. The room was comfortable. It was small, but we were expecting that as it said this on booking. Could have done with another plug socket in the room as other than the ones by the bedside, there was only one behind a chest of drawers. I had taken a travel kettle. The room was serviced every day and was great for the 3 nights we stayed.

I love The Hotel Chelsea it is the only hotel I will stay in when I am in NYC. The historical aspect of the hotel is intriguing and the restoration is absolutely beautiful. The location is perfect when I am working in NYC. I am easily able to walk to the shows I attend and it is incredibly convenient. The staff is very attentive and friendly, as a solo traveler on business, I always feel safe and well taken care of.

The architecture is absolutely divine; the café and the lobby bar were extraordinary with exceptional service from our waitstaff. Our only regret is not making time to go to the adjoining restaurant. Will be staying here again without a question. Our room was fantastic. The bathroom was gorgeous and very clean. Our room was more than comfortable. Would pay for the balcony upgrade in the future.

Incredible property with so much history. The finishes are beautiful. We stayed in a King Room and it was a bit small but not an issue at all once unpacked. The amenities and staff are excellent. I was worried about booking the hotel due to people reporting the history makes it have an eerie feeling but didn’t sense that at all, it’s a lovely warm vibe.
