We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The location is great! Bed was comfortable. Shower was nice with a good water pressure. Our toilet wouldn’t flush, and when we attempted to call the front desk, the phone in the room didn’t work. My husband had to go down to the front desk and ask for assistance. I had attempted to texted them (they send you a text at check-in, saying you can text them for assistance) prior to my husband going to the front desk, and they didn’t respond until the middle of the night. 2:44 AM!!!

United KingdomStaff could have been a little friendlier. The room was not 100% clean - there were crumbs and plastic cutlery by the coffee station. During our last night, we were woken up by a very strong marijuana smell making its way through the vents - it was very uncomfortable and kept us up for a while.
Really convenient location within walking distance of some sights, several subway stations, shopping and restaurants. The rooms had a decent sized bathroom, a well-working air conditioning & heating unit, a mini fridge and a coffee machine. If you sign up for Hilton Honors, you can check in before your arrival, pick your own room and skip the front desk by getting a digital key.

RussiaThe stay was nothing special. I intuitively picked it, probably for design on pictures. The hotel is small and this is why I normally choose boutique hotels. It was my birthday trip and I expected nice staff with above average attention to detail and care. It is okay that they didn't notice the day of our arrival was my birthday, I'm not the queen, but neither the staff in the bar was very polite. A typical NYC problem - the walls are thin, and there was a very noisy company next door. All in all, it was just okay. I wouldn't recommend it to my friends, but neither would stop anyone from booking it.
The hotel is small, so there are no lines at the elevator. The location is great, you can walk around and the subway station is a couple of blocks away. I loved the huge bed in the room, and I found it pretty comfy.

Probably not worth spending on that upgrade. The bed was also quite soft in comparison to a bit firmer mattress we prefer.

United StatesOne of the staff members just let themselves into our rooms without knocking or waiting for us to be decent to replace the body wash. We asked for our room to be serviced but they did not change the bedding or sheets. They just made the bed. We wanted our sheets fully replaced. The elevator can get really crowded in the morning with long wait times.
The location and the bathtub were the best parts. It was very easy to access the trains and to just walk the city. The room was well lit and comfortable. Surprisingly very quiet at night. Could not hear any city noise. The ice water in the lobby was great on the hot summer days. The room was very comfortable for two.

PolandIt was very overpriced for the size and services offered. The location is pretty charmless - it’s what we needed but I wouldn’t recommend it overall for a first time visitor to NYC. The shower got the whole bathroom wet and there was no shelf for toothbrushes. It was absolutely bare bones basic, which did not match the price.
Desk staff were friendly, efficient, and helpful. Really nice lobby and very clean room, with nice furniture. Location suited our needs well.
