Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe cost of parking with the hotel is about $34 daily. I thought it should be free based on the hotel room prices. Also, there is no pool or hot tube which would have added to our experience.
Staff was particularly friendly and pleasant. The property was lovely; you wouldn't believe that it is a historic place. It is well maintained and our room was great. Clearly there is attention to detail. An added touch are the homemade cookies that are provided to guests daily at 3:00 pm. We visited the Pines Restaurant twice and it was a modern, classy looking restaurant and the food and beverages were tasty and reasonably priced. The overall experience was far in excess of my expectations. Location and walk score to fun restaurants, Dartmouth, and walking trails along the Connecticut River were added benefits.

United StatesOnline descriptions of Pine were confusing - it looked like a prix-fixe, seven course meal type of restaurant. We were delighted to find that it was not! Also, the towels are getting a bit thin.
Every single member of the staff was friendly and helpful. They made it very easy for us to have a relaxing weekend, despite being there for a memorial service.

United StatesThe toilet. The host and restaurant service (however, the bartender was terrific and you can eat at the bar).
Hanover Inn Dartmouth is directly across from Dartmouth College green and campus, at the corner of charming boutiques and casual eateries. It is a prime location for the college (for visiting parents and reunions) and also a nice location for anyone traveling for a medical appointment or to visit a patient at DHMC nearby. Having said this there is a feel of corporate-ness and our room, touted as having a 'campus view', while it faced campus direction across the green this was nothing to write home about (the brick side of the hotel with a single campus spire poking above a tree beyonder). Also, the toilet lid of our toilet when first lifted revealed itself to be completely off its hinges, something that housekeeping (which did a good but not great job) may have noticed and attended to before we checked in. Pine, the bar-restaurant is fine, with outdoor seating for nice weather. The food is very American; the service good but not genteel. We had a single drink at the bar with friends, then opted for room service. There were no apparent streaming options so bring your own Apple TV or HDMI cable if you'd like to watch a film.

United StatesJust reiterated what went wrong. And, why charge over When your room is facing a boiler ? Not attractive but would not have minded had the room been rated as such.
Breakfast was great. The fact that the Inn would not honor my discount due to surgery at Hancock is a scam. One night was booked on line, the other directly but I visited the Inn and was told that the rates for both nights would be 255.00 and that was without the discount.
