Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Requires upload of biometrical data, check in is completely via phone. No staff at the hotel. Would NEVER have agreed to this if it was clear before booking.

I wasn’t a fan of the area it was in. I didn’t realize we would be staying in a gay neighborhood with very flamboyant gay men. My brother is gay so I am not phobic around homosexual people but when they are purposely acting overly gay that’s when I have an issue and this district definitely had more than its fair share of overly dramatic gay men running around. Our room also stayed fairly warm and there a constant loud banging sound that would occur every 15 seconds or less which made it very difficult to sleep.
It was walking distance from many sites

Poor disclosure - Check in, luggage storage, having to download an app just to watch television. The last thing I want to do is to lard up my phone with another App to see the news. First, this is not a hotel. Check in time is rigid starting at 4 PM - no sooner or you pay extra. There is no front desk. Everything is done electronically with codes to check - in. You store bags in lockers if you arrive early or are leaving later after check out which is 1100. If the lockers are full, well good luck, you are stuck with your bags. The whole experience creates anxiety i.e. will the access code work after check - out so I can get my bags so I make my plane? I don't need that.

Excellent large rooms, coffee making facilities. Very central location, good restaurants and bars in the neighbourhood. Baggage storage facilities. Easy to check in.

We love everything in our days in The Arco. We had a freedom of an Airbnb with the luxury of a upscale hotel, with the right size, in a historic building, with a short number of rooms. Certainly, we will stay in another location next travel.

The room was shabby, and I found a cockroach hanging out when I used my bathroom at night. There was no front desk or staff on site. The room had only one small window and was dark during the day.
The room was a big loft apartment.

It would want to be cheap because the furniture was sometimes decrepit and the whole hotel was quite old and not well maintained. The air con was loud and slow to respond. On the first morning, there was no hot water to my room. Then the sole elevator to the 5-floor property stopped functioning over most of the weekend, a problem given my mobility issues. Over my 6-day stay, the room was never serviced. The main problem is that there are no concierge staff on site, so requests for help (which had to be made to a call centre) were responded to very slowly if at all. I could not recommend this property to others.
Cheap in a great location but disappointing overall.
