Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesGreat retro NY hotel. We stayed in the king room with large bay style window. Room was large, clean, and great shower/bathroom. Hotel lobby is art deco and retro at its finest. Truly great vibe all around. Old timey hotel that brings you back to a NYC when it was in its prime without the smell and grime that’s built up elsewhere in the city since that time…

United StatesOur room only had one chair for two people and the bathroom was a bit cold.
Excellent location, comfortable rooms, and supportive staff. We were able to walk everywhere or take the subway. The rooms were large (especially for New York!) with comfortable beds and good layouts. The sitting area downstairs was also great for getting a cup of tea in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. We will definitely consider staying in this hotel again.

United KingdomThey don’t have coffee or tea in the room which as an early riser (6am) was annoying. I had to wait till 7am for coffee downstairs which was just brewed coffee. They have an espresso machine down there so I thought they’d have a barista (I was wrong). I got upgraded to a king room but it was very tiny and I had a dark room with a view of the alley. The gym is also very small so if another person is in there you might not be able to do what you want.
Great location.

AustraliaSelected hotel based on information that rooms were larger than most in NYC and we were still pretty tight for space. Was not able to get reservations in restaurant downstairs.

United KingdomTook ages to fix the heating in one of our rooms which meant we had none for 2 days over Christmas. The coffee in the morning was dreadful - don’t bother with it, just go locally. There wasn’t a very personal feel to the hotel although the housekeeping staff were all wonderful.
Great location. The evening drinks at 5pm were a lovely touch.

AustraliaWe were given the wrong room (no city view). When we called reception, they pushed back saying it was the fault of booking.com. We were told we could be upgraded the next day, which we were. But we’re also told we would be provided with a voucher for free breakfast at a cafe close by (which was actually only pot coffee and a croissant), and a bottle of wine, which never showed up… Gym was incredibly small, very busy and the equipment was limited. Extras (room service, laundry) were ridiculously overpriced.
Location was fantastic and rooms were very cosy and comfortable. Security (who was an absolute gentleman) and staffed reception open 24/7 was a bonus. Complimentary live jazz music and wine or hot chocolate in the evening was an amazing atmosphere.

RomaniaBeing an older now renovated hotel, the rooms are not that well insulated, so you can hear what others are doing in other rooms or on the hallway (which woke us up in a morning when some people were leaving at 7am). The $100 per night warranty is also a bit excessive (although we stayed for 7 nights so they lowered it to $500, I still find it to be quite high).
The room is really spacious, and the location is really good. It was also warm during our 7 day stay in the winter. The hotel staff was really helpful, I had a parcel delivered and they got it to my room. I also liked the new feeling rooms, although some things like the bathroom cupboard was still old. Complimenrary coffee (& wine/hot chocolate during Christmas) was welcome, although the fruits were only apples.

United KingdomThe rate didn’t include breakfast and housekeeping could have been more attentive (forgot to remove dirty towels on a couple of occasions). The property is a bit of a maze.

AustraliaMy only minor complaint is that the few times we thought we might order room service it was never available, and they kept forgetting to stock up the toilet paper when they serviced the room. Minor complaints in an otherwise brilliant stay. Would definitely stay there again.
Beautiful building with period styling and features, much better that I even expected. The beds were extremely comfortable, the best hotel beds I’ve ever had. It was also pretty insulated from noise from the street and other rooms which was great. We booked a room with two queen beds for a family of four, which was pretty small as we expected it would be (it is New York after all!), but we didn’t spend much time there and when we did we were very comfortable.
