The kitchen was almost not usable. Three forks for the complete hostel is a little less. Also it was not very clean.

Location (near a subway station and grocery stores), boxes underneath bunkbeds to store your luggage (big enough to fit carry-on luggage and more). They provide lockers if you don't bring one, also provide a towel per person. Cool common areas and kitchen. Awesome view from the rooftop.

This time I paid 65 USD, its a hostel, a shared room with bunk beds.

I've been many times in The Local NYC, since the price of 1 night was 18 USD, still the best option in NYC.

The hotel needs policies and rules that have to be followed.

The area îs located the hotel, close to public transportation that runs very often and takes you to different locations and neigborhoods accross the city. Very good shoping area including restaurants , bars, street food, beauty salons,etc.

the kitchen space felt like it is never cleaned out, as it was jam packed and hard to find space for belongings.

I liked the ample space and large storage bins provided for each bed. the bin easily fit a carry on, backpack and additional shoes.

bunkbed is a little noisy you have to walk 10-15 min to get to subway, stores, there’s not much in the hostel surroundings

Only recommendation would be to put a chair or two in each room.

The ensuite bathroom was a bit annoying - toilet separated from sink and shower - and there was no shelf to put soap and shampoo while showering. But it was really just a minor problem.

I was there several times, and the there was a electric kettle. When I came again, there was no kettle. As I need tea and hot water, I bought a kettle. When I checked out I presented it to the hostel. I hope, it will work for some time.

a little far from things to do and a quiet neighborhood which can be a plus for some, but walking alone at night felt a little unsafe since no one else is out.

The cleanliness of the kitchen is the only negative point of the hostel. The neighbourhood has some good bars, cafes, restaurants and parks, but it's not as dense and cool as Manhattan and Brooklyn.

The 4 bed room is very comfortable. It has a toilet and shower inside, heating/AC and plenty of space. It was very clean and they changed my bed sheets and towel each 3 days. It's very close to a subway station and only one station away from Manhattan.

The blinds in our room were broken, so during the day the room was rather dark. I noticed it in the reception but didn't see any measures taken.

Clean, comfortable, warm, and good ambience. I was working from there some days and it was perfect. The kitchen is also very complete and useful. At least now in winter with not many hosts, maybe in high season is not as comfortable. Location is good in terms of quick connection with Manhattan, but the area is not specially livable. I loved that they organize activities like cinema, concerts or painting classes.

need to replace used towels with new towels. Caught a rash on my arm after I used a towel that was washed. Didn't have soap or bathroom essentials. And mold in the showers. Overall for a short stay the bed was comfortable. Just need to a better job cleaning..

I like it overall will book again if in travel. Very quick check in. Bar is open. Morning pastries and coffee. close to alot of eateries. 9 min walk from 7 train..

The Local knows how to make you feel at home. You can easily reach Manhattan and Williamsburg on foot or by subway (3 minutes away), and once you return from your trip, you'll have a fun place to hang out. Grab a beer and head to the terrace for spectacular views of the Manhattan skyline or relax at the bar in the company of a professional and friendly staff. Special mention for Ryzen, who best embodied the spirit of The Local.

There are not some many places to put your stuff in the room. The bed cracks.

The staff are friendly and helpful. The location is very convenient and very close to subway station Court Square-23 St. The area is safe and quiet, with shops, supermarkets and restaurants around. The room is small but nice. The view from the rooftop is amazing.
