Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe Fridge - I'm very big on deep cleaning fridges and I was so close to doing this for them during my stay. Things were out of date or had been there from previous people who had stayed there a few days from me. Although I appreciated we had labels to write up our names and checkout dates it kind of seem pointless if the check out dates weren't being followed to remove/bin food. This was taking up too much space in fridges especially if people had take away boxes in the fridge. On my last day here, I woke up to find 2 men in my room too, even though I booked for an all female dorm. As you can imagine this made me super uncomfortable and I spoke to the receptionist who was really nice but said all the other dorms were booked up so there wasn't much he could do. Lastly, I had staff randomly coming in to my dorm without knocking or knowing I was even in the room! Again suncomfortable and unprofessional. This probably happened about 7/8 times.
I loved how spacious this place was was surprised to see it had its own bar too! Not to far from the subway, probs 7-10 min walk and defianately felt like a safe area to stay in considering this was my first solo trip! Would defiantly recommend this place and will be staying here the next time I go to NY.

Germanythe beds have no privacy curtains, no lamps and a place where to put your phone, earpods, chargers and little stuff. The AC is VERY LOUD, you can't sleep in those conditions. Bath is not clean. Every one enters and turn on the VERY BRIGHT LIGHTS in the whole room. The kitchen is dirty, with pans in the sink full of grease, bread crumbs on the counters, its a mess.

CanadaKitchen was tiny for the number of beds, and showers were comically small, making it almost impossible to shower without getting my hair wet (water pressure was great though!)
As a female travelling alone to NY, I felt very safe and welcomed here. Location is nice and quiet - out of the way from Times Square and the 24 hour hustle of Manhattan. Less than a 5 minute stroll to the subway, where the E train takes you directly to Times Square, Port Authority and Broadway in less than 10 minutes. Nice rooms with private showers, clean kitchen, good communal areas both quiet and social, nice bar/cafe.

NetherlandsThe shower was leaking, the shower curtain smelled really bad. There is no privacy curtain on the beds. The staff is polite, but they were busy talking on their phone with friends while helping me out. You get a free drink, but when I asked for a machiatto a person there told me they dont know how to make a machiatto so I ordered something else instead.
The bar and the common area were nice. The kitchen is big. The bed is comfortable.

United KingdomReally easy to get into Manhattan via the subway that was close by. The property was really clean, modern, and there were lots of spaces to relax, as well as socialise. The staff and the bartenders were super friendly. The surrounding area was well-lit and didn’t feel unsafe.

This was the worse place i’ve ever been after traveling for more than 23 countries, staff very rude, there was a Russian man with another muslim man In my share room which was thinking the sharing room belonged to them.i was simply eating a chocolate in my bad and these men came to me looking for a fight so i had to call the police to calm down the situation and the staff from this hostel lied about me and beileve, ive been kicked out of the hostel at 3:00 o’Clock in the morning with -2 degres and raining outside. My lower is working on it and of course They’ll have to pay what did and horrible moment they’ve putting me in. I DON’T recomend

PortugalThe air conditioning makes a horrible noise, making it difficult to sleep or rest. Hostel users should be informed that the rules must be followed, not to slam doors, to respect those who are sleeping, almost no one does this. I've been to other hostels where these rules are almost always long. But, this is very difficult for the Hostel employees to control. thanks.
Good morning, It wasn't all good. I liked the people who treated me well. I liked the space in the bar and living room. Of the rooms it is 50%, not all of it is good. thanks.

FranceI paid 44$ 5 months in advance at The Local, that is for a dorm outside Manhattan in winter (hostel was empty) - and they were the cheapest... but room was not heated (I would say it was 15/16°C (for 4°C outside), i couldnt start the heater by myself, and anyway the windows are a single layer of glass with air (and noise then) seeping through : I think unacceptable is the word. The current evaluation asks for how staff was: hard to say i showed up at 11pm, i would say ok/polite, but i dont know why, even though that was 11, it seemed scarce, felt like some motel lost in the middle of an unexpected place. So well to be fair, Im glad i could find that price a night, but Im not sure Id recommand as of today, sorry.
Quite well located at the crossroads of transportation between JFK, La Guardia and NYC.
