Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe main toilets in the lobby area had no toilet paper, one toilet was backed up and filled with poop. Overall unclean. It seemed like there were quite a few people working, but no one was taking care of maintenance issues or making sure the water carafe was filled for guests, etc. The things that help make a place feel inviting. In the 4 person room the toilet and shower areas were very small. No dividers or anything to close off your bunk. No reading lights. When I woke up in the morning I thought I was getting sick, so I got a hotel to keep others from getting sick. Ended up being allergies from something in the hostel. Felt much better within minutes of leaving the building. The late night comedy and bar area was right under the rooms, so it was fairly loud. When I checked out she seemed pretty indifferent and didn't offer any kind of refund. Though super convenient area, that specific block seemed a little sketchy.
This was my first Hostel stay, but left after one night. Pretty decent location. Easy to get into Manhattan and back on the subway. Only a few stops to Midtown. Also easy to get to from JFK. Sufficient bedding. Good work/library/game space. Bar area and lounge area were fixed up cute. Garage door opened at night where the bar was. Lounge area had a huge projector with TV shows. Comedian that night wasn't very funny, but a great idea to have entertainment. They held my bags for the day since I arrived well before I could check in.

BrazilI wish they had a small table, shelf or at least a chair in the room, to make it easier to organize our personal items. The room is very spacious and the lockers are big, that's nice.
The hotel has a great structure, is well decorated, have a nice bar and an amazing rooftop. There are many musical activities at night, that's cool.

NetherlandsThe location is great, very close to the metro station and the city center, but also to the ferry that you can take to Dumbo or Manhattan. The lounge area is also nice, the rooms are clean and they have sufficient space for travellers (I've stayed in a 4-bed female dorm), and it's also great to get a fresh towel. I've stayed here two times when I was in NYC and I like how quite it was for a hostel. The rooftop area is also a plus point to the place.

United KingdomThe private rooms were a little cramped, with power outlets down the side of the bed not really accessible and not a lot of room to unpack, but realistically it's a hostel and a good value one at that so it's to be expected!
Really good value for money. The location is really good - it's a quiet, safe part of town, and the hostel itself is just a few minutes walk from Court Sq station which has the E, M, G and 7 trains, which means you're never more than 25 minutes away from Manhattan, Brooklyn, Jamaica (which gets you to JFK) or LaGuardia. The staff were really friendly and the 24/7 bar/coffee shop was great. We were a couple with a packed itinerary and private room so we didn't spend too much time there, but it seemed like there was a good mix of travellers with social vibes and events being advertised. Obviously it's not the Soho Ritz, it's a hostel in LIC, so it won't be for everyone, but I'd definitely stay there again next time I visited.

Germany- miscommunications: 1. before my arrival, they sent me an E-Mail that check-in will be at 3 p.m. When I arrived there, they told me check-in is at 4 p.m 2. The locker size: according to the description, my suitcase would have fit in there. When I arrived, it did not fit at all. So during the whole stay, I was worried about my stuff since I did not know who will be staying with me in the room. 3. In the E-Mail it was also stated, that masks will be mandatory in the common areas, but nobody was wearing one and no one said something about this. so they need to update their standartised Mails. - privacy: 1. I am aware that in a hostel you will not get much privacy. But it can be fixed with curtains for the beds for instance. Also, the bathroom and toilet were so small, that changing in there was really difficult. 2. It would have been nice, if they told me, who else will be staying in the room. There was someone coming in the middle of the night, which scared me since I woke up from the noise. If I knew, that someone will still be coming, that would not have happened. - comfort: The bed was alright, I slept in the bottom bunk. But whenever the person above me moved, the bed moved also. During the whole night, I kept waking up because of that. Overall: Since I stayed for only one night, it was alright. I would not recommend staying any longer.

United StatesEverything was amazing except for the shower. The shower head would always have the water hitting my face while I was showering. The water pressure was good but the shower was a little too cramped.
Even though it was a dorm like setting, it felt more like a hotel than a dorm. I ended up meeting new friends here too! The staff was also very helpful and friendly! Definitely coming back next time I come to NYC!

United KingdomThe staff were incredibly unhelpful and at times rude to me. When I checked in I was exhausted after an overnight flight, an hour after check in time they told me I could check in with no explanation around the delay or apology. They didn't even tell me where my room was, I just figured it out. When I went up my bed had clearly been slept in, when I asked the cleaner what she thought I should do she told me to follow her downstairs where I stood at reception listening to three staff members swear at eachother about why the room was messy. Again, no explanation or apology, they just let me stand there. Every other interaction with staff was unpleasant, I always felt as though I was a burden or asking for something unreasonable. Given I only checked in, out and bought a coffee this isn't great. It could have easily been so much better.
The facilities were great, nice beds and clean rooms. I had a private bathroom and was sharing with two other girls which worked great. Also the location is great, super easy and quick direct subway link to Manhattan. The cafe is also nice, you can get a snack and a coffee or a beer in the evening which is convenient.

United StatesI arrived at the hotel reception and the staff said they couldn't find my order? Provided the booking page, payment information, and online chat history of the hotel, but the front desk staff still said they couldn’t find the order, and didn’t respond like the superior, so they asked me to contact booking by myself and seriously complained to the front desk。I was very angry and the hotel front desk did not offer any help and did not ask the hotel management how to deal with it. I waited in the hotel lobby for more than an hour. Booking tried to call the hotel, but no one answered, and I sent emails to the hotel, but no one responded. The front desk of the hotel is too bad, I will expose it through all social platforms。This is the second time I book your hotel. I didn't expect to encounter an irresponsible front desk. It's just rubbish。

ChileNY is expensive, and this hostel too. 100 usd for 1 night sharing a small room with other 4 guys. Small bathroom, too cold room. When I got to the hostel my bed was occupied by another person. At reception the attention was not good. Young people with no experience and indifferent treatment. I was so tired when I got there that I took the used bed anyway.
