Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe breakfast is not really a breakfast more just coffee which is available all day and a few danishes. There was no fruit and they ran out of the plan yogurt. I just would not advertise as breakfast included and then what you have would seem great.
It was in the town , the kitchen and treats on every floor were great

The exceptional experience began immediately! We were greeted at the desk with warmth and acknowledged as repeat visitors. All of our requests regarding room location, extra towels and pillows were acknowledged and provided. The rooms are so gorgeous and clean. This notel has beautifully stocked galley kitchens on each floor with water, cookies in the evening, croissant in the am and little nibble to be found all day. The location is perfect and the staff goes out of their way anytime you need them!

United StatesThere isn’t anything we didn’t like about the property.
Ideal location, on site parking, self serve galleys, rooftop patio with exceptional views, use of bicycles, lobby restrooms-clean and spacious, friendly and accommodating staff, lobby bar area and cafe/gift shop were most inviting and user friendly. Our room was clean, crisp, and comfortable, with a great view of town.

United StatesI recently stayed at The Menhaden Hotel and had an exceptional experience! The staff, particularly Aedan, Grace, and Felecia, were incredibly helpful and made my stay truly memorable. Their attentiveness and friendly demeanor ensured that all my needs were met promptly and with a smile. The hotel's rooftop is a highlight, offering stunning views and a relaxing atmosphere that is perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. It's a wonderful spot to enjoy a drink and take in the beauty of the surroundings. Another convenient feature of The Menhaden is the galleys located on each floor. These well-stocked mini-kitchens are a fantastic amenity, providing easy access to snacks and drinks at any time. It's a thoughtful touch that really adds to the overall comfort and convenience of the stay. Overall, The Menhaden Hotel combines excellent service, beautiful facilities, and thoughtful amenities to create a wonderful experience. I highly recommend it and will definitely be returning!

United Statesif I were to be super critical, you can work on a better pet policy. I have a service animal who is highly trained in behaviour but if it was just my pet...like children policies there are many hotels who work extensively on children and family policies, pets fall in line with this as well as to many in the next generation of travellers their pets are their children.
so nicely appointed. Nice night manager.

United StatesI would have rather had a real breakfast at the bar downstairs
One of the thing I love most when I stay at a hotel is breakfast. At Menhaden they provided a self serve breakfast in the alley on each floor. It was ok, but the choice is very limited, yogurt, cereals and couple of pastries. If you don't want to have something sweet you have to step out.

United StatesIn the winter months additional blankets might be a plus for cold sleepers
This is a gorgeous, chic boutique hotel. Everything was well executed, from the appearance of the exterior, entry way, and lounge/amenity spaces to the size, cleanliness, and comfort of the guest rooms themselves. We really enjoyed having the so-called "galley" on each guest floor. It's basically a mini kitchen stocked with treats (candies, chips, yogurt and granola, juice, boxed water, San Pellegrino, Coke and Diet Coke in glass bottles, self-serve hot tea and Keurig coffee) that are available all day long. As a bonus, the staff bake off croissants in the morning and warm cookies in the evening and place these in each galley for guests (yum!). There are two hang-out spaces flanking the check-in desk, one is a cafe and market and the other is a bar/lounge. Both were cozy, bright and welcoming. On the top floor there's a rooftop lounge with gas fire pits - great for summer and fall, but too cold in November. The best part of our stay might be the staff, who absolutely went above and beyond to give us recommendations on what to do, where to eat, and how to organize our time to maximize enjoyment. They didn't just hand out a list of attractions but very kindly asked us about our interests to make personalized recommendations. Plus they were super helpful in offering to make dinner reservations and texted us their tips so we didn't have to rely on memory or a scrap of paper. We would absolutely come back to the Menhaden on a future North Fork stay!
