Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Mixed feelings about this hotel after two recent stays. Great location, and Henry who handled concierge/luggage services was always excellent. However, the reception staff were not so helpful or friendly, and I had several issues with housekeeping and maintenance - too many to list here. In addition, even the suite had no view/minimal daylight, the decor is quite outdated and shabby in places, and there’s no tea/coffee making facilities in the room.

Love the Michaelangelo. The staff are exceptional- warm, helpful, friendly. A great place to stay and so near everything in the theatre district.

Excellent location and couldn’t be happier with my stay Staff were so helpful from Norsa the housekeeper to Shawn the bartender and the. really happy and helpful doormen . It’s close to subway and everything you need in NYC . And crocodile Dundee used to stay there !!! Thoroughly recommend

A very rude member of staff working in the cafe lounge. I only asked for a coffee from the (lady) her response was, "no not now" quite aggressive actually. All other staff were lovely.

Mattress was a bit lumpy.
Beautiful hotel, very clean, very nice room, and location was great for Broadway shows and Central Park. Staff was excellent-very friendly and attentive.

Absolutely gorgeous, very clean and in a perfect location to Times Square and Radio City without being right in the middle of crazy crowds. Big rooms For years I have been looking for a go to hotel for the city, I have found it. And the staff was right on top of all my needs

Bathrooms were super clean and towels clean and crisp but could do with an update.
The hotel is very comfortable. It’s an old hotel but has received new coat of paint and new carpets. Bed linen, towels, Mattress all crisp and new. Staff are very helpful. Location was fantastic. Easy walk to Times Square, Rockefeller, Broadway and subways etc

The hair dryer was very ineffective.
The room was spacious and very comfortable. The staff was informative and helpful. Theodore especially seemed to go out of his way to make sure we had what was needed.

The hotel is in need of an upgrade. We booked a junior suite for our week long stay and the bed was sunken/ so was the couch and chairs in the room. The night manager Vanessa was very kind to change the room but the bed and couch were the same in the other room as well. Hardly got any sleep all week. Water was not replenished in the rooms on 3 days and when we called for it we were told to come down and get it ourselves. There was no staff to deliver. Not expected from a hotel of this calibre.
Very convenient location in midtown.

The restaurant seating area was beautiful but I found the actual seats a bit too low and not very comfortable.I kept sliding down because they were low to ground. I’m only 5ft 8. Higher chairs would have kept me enjoying more than one cocktail.
The room was beautiful and spacious for NYC. The decor was warm and inviting with plenty of space to relax, sofa and chairs. The pocket doors in bathing suits/ closet area a nice touch for privacy and to not disturb your spouse.

Nothing really, maybe limited in sockets and water wasn’t always replenished but these are very minor things which in no way detracted from the great overall experience we had.
