Nothing to note on this one day stay.

Full service spa and resort that is visually appealing. Very nice library with lots of great old books and comfortable seating. Lots of beautiful wood paneling. Very good meal in the dining room.

    Everyone made it wonderful.

Maddie, who checked us in, was extremely sweet and helped us navigate the property. We had an issue with the air-conditioning not working in our room at check-in. She tried to resolve it and find us another room. Nate in maintenance tried to resolve the air-conditioning issue in both rooms we were given. There was some issue that was beyond normal means. Working with his boss and Maddie, they were able to accommodate our stay in a room with air-conditioning. They all were so personable, caring, looking to make our stay comfortable. We were grateful for these two people and how genuine they were. We will definitely come back because of them. Maddie also had checked us in for dinner at the castle. She was a wealth of knowledge of the history and we decided to stay in one of the rooms in the castle soon. Kelly was our waitress making our dinner there exceptional with her kindness and knowledge. The food was exceptional to add.

    Fireplace

The fireplace in the lobby is very nice while having a glass of wine. After having dinner at the Castle it was great way to end the night. Okemo is 10 mins away I parked at Jackson Gore. Less hectic on that side of the mountain nice long run at the of the day on your way back to car.

    Extra taxes and fees

Everything is according to the price. Do not expect newly remodeled rooms and super comfy beds for the price they charge. There is always a balance between quality and price and this hotel right on spot. Could it be better- sure but its not going to be at this price point. If someone is looking for perfection- look somewhere else and be ready to pay much more.

Although we stayed three nights and did not rate chambermaid service automatically even once. (Yes, we were told on check in that we could request cleaning, but I didn’t realize we would not see any cleaning during our stay.) On check in we also learned that the indoor pool and whirlpool were being worked on. (That these were available was one reason I had booked the place.) We also learned at check in that the spa was somewhere up hill. (Since we are older and not terribly mobile, we gave it a pass.) Finally, the heating — which was very necessary in mid-November — was so loud that we had to overheat the room in the evening and then turn the heat off to sleep through the night. Someone “worked on it” & there was some improvement for a while.

The property in general and our room specifically were very clean. The staff was friendly.

It was basic lodging. It wasn’t as advertised. We thought we were going to be staying at a high end resort. Not! When we booked we were under the impression we would be staying at a a gorgeous historic inn not what I would describe to be more like a motel. It was a very chilly weekend but they wouldn’t put the fireplace on. The staff said they weren’t allowed until sometime in November. The toiletries were very low quality and minimal. Glad I had my own. Our room was not refreshed the whole time we were there(3 nights). The thermostat did not work so we were unable to turn up the heat when needed.

The pool and hot tub were clean and the perfect temperature.

This hotel needs a revamp and for what I paid, I was hoping it would be nicer. We left a day early bc it was so far from hikes, attractions (1 hour) and it smelled like it was from the 80s.

There are a couple of nice restaurants in Ludlow.

Was disappointed that breakfast was only available on weekends as it appeared to be a very nice dining area and its always nice to have breakfast included. After some tiring skiing was thinking about staying an extra day and driving home in daylight instead of night, but surprisingly no vacancy for that Tuesday night without shifting rooms so decided if moving bags might as well put in car and go home.

King room was spacious and comfortable with places to sit without having to be always on the bed. Nice window covers for privacy and blocking early morning light.
