Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaNoise from the plumbing, flushing a toilet or running the shower was quite noisy and could be heard from neighbouring rooms. It wasn't explained at check-in how the included breakfast process works. I had to seek details to understand, it is not obvious.
Very decent sized room, comfortable bed and nice bathroom/shower. The hotel toiletries are great.

United StatesI booked a queen terrace room and the terrace was covered in scaffolding so the terrace was completely unusable- couldn’t even open the door as the scaffolding was in the way. This was disappointing as I wanted to be able to be out there to drink coffee and watch the city.
Clean rooms in a great location. Easy to access subway. Friendly staff.

The location in Downtown Manhattan was exactly what I wanted. I could visit the 9/11 museum, the World Trade Center, and Wall Street within a few minutes. The staff is excellent and great with recommendations.

JapanNothing.
Clean. Not over crowded. Homey. Beautifully designed. Reasonably priced. I’ve traveled to NYC several times for work and the issue with most hotels is that they are always over priced, over crowded, and too expensive. Smyth Tribeca was special in that it was none of these things. I will come back 100%

CanadaI received an unexpected charge on my account for a charitable donation that I did not authorize. Although the staff reversed it (not very graciously) when I complained, it should never have been charged in the first place. If I want to make a charitable donation, I will. If the hotel asks if I wish to make one, I can say yes or no. The hotel has no right to charge my card for a donation that I did not authorize.
The room was more spacious than the average New York room and it was nicely appointed, clean and modern.

United StatesHotel staff were pleasant, but not particularly friendly or everly helpful, which was a little disappointing, given it was the holiday season.
It's in a great location, with super easy access to the subway just outside the hotel. Rooms were very clean and orderly. Nice mini-bar selections too! Great bar and restaurant on premises. Good options nearby for quick breakfast if needed.

GermanyThe fan is noisy but that’s just how the US builds houses - a bit noisy compared to Europe. On the invoice they put a charity charge of $ 2 per night which isn’t a problem if someone would have told me upfront but if it’s not agreed on it feels like a small scam. Watch out!
Great proximity to the subway and nice view into the city. Tribeca is less crowded and would really recommend as a location to stay here. Rooms are spacious and clean with a minibar and nice amenities. Front office team is relatively friendly, housekeeping staff is superb.

United StatesI liked everything except out house phone in the room was not working. They sent an engineer to fix or replace it with no success. Could not get streaming networks easily on the tv. They had 100 channels including HBO. Ordered an electric kettle for tea and they only had paper to go cups. (That seemed strange since they have a restaurant.
Beautiful decor, if you like modern design and architecture. Clean and comfortable.

Israelstronger water pressure in the shower would be nicer, but it's negligible
Great neighborhood, amazing location, 3 subway lines with one significant one (the red line) right at the door of the hotel. A huge room and certainly in the terms of New York and in general, a well-equipped and luxurious room with a huge corner window to the street. We got the room when we arrived, three hours before the check-in time

United StatesSome things could be bettered. Some rust on the bathroom soap holder and not enough hooks for towels. There could be more plugs beyond the hard to reach behind the walls ones. The room where we stayed had no art on the walls and it felt a bit sad. A little table close to chair would be great, as well as a coffee maker. For the price these things should be a must.
