This visit was so different then my previous visits. A power outage made keys not accessible during check in on Friday, maintenance let another family in our room under the impression it was their room, if you left the room you had no way to get in without driving to the Welcome Center (apparently their phones were out also), it was just one ridiculous situation after another. The worse part was having to always leave someone behind at the room so we had access to be let in because Friday literally took HOURS to get maintenances help. And honestly it wasn’t their fault they were trying to help everyone but it was just impossible.

So when we got there the system was down and they didn't gave us the key 1 day and a half later so everytime we had to come in our room we had to wait for maintenance to open the door for us. That's was sooo disappointing. I 've been In better resorts Def not coming back.

Area surrounding the villa isn't the best, staff was good. Villa was outdated and dingy. Icemaker wasn't working, no vacuum and furniture was old and dusty.

The Resort Was Great, Very Affordable And Located In A Good Area. There were so many things to do around the resort, which was great. Our villa was so nice, clean and fully equipped with items we may need. Staff Was Nice & Friendly. Definitely will be returning :)

The one bedroom villa was the size of a hotel room and very out dated. Only view from my windows was trees. No music from the tiki bar by the pool. Pool towels were old for a resort. Pools chairs were broken. I am disabled and requested a bottom floor close to a pool and was on the 4th floor farthest from everything. One snack bar was closed half the time.

Several pools to choose from which was great since it was so packed.

I decided to book at Calypso Cay for almost a week stay with my boyfriend while we were on vacation and going to universal studios. I have stayed at Calypso Cay multiple times over the years with my parents and little brother when I was a lot younger and always remembered having a great time, so I was really excited to be able to stay here again. Well this trip was nothing like what I have experienced anywhere before. The room had several defects: broken drawers, several cracks in the tiles, scuffed tables, the ceiling lights in the bedroom didn’t work, some of the outlets didn’t work, the shower barely worked, the drain in the tub was covered in mold, and so was the shower head. The staff throughout the entire stay were extremely unprofessional, lacked communication and knowledge, and did not take any responsibility throughout our stay. My terrible experience started while trying to check in at 9pm, after an entire day at universal studios. I booked my room on 5/24 online for my stay on 6/14-6/18. I called the front desk before even booking to see if I could request a specific room and floor and was assured that I am able to do so after booking and they would check their availability to see if they can add it to my reservation. I then called Calypso Cay’s front desk for a total of 5 times over the course of 3 weeks, and spoke to at least 3 different people, to request a 1 bedroom villa with a jacuzzi on the fifth floor, their top floor. I always request the top floor since it is typically the quietest and I have chronic migraines which worsen with noise and make it extremely difficult to sleep. Each phone call that I made to the front desk I was assured that the 1 bedroom villa with a jacuzzi on the 5th floor was added to my reservation and it would be the room I would receive unless something happened to the actual room itself prior to my arrival. The night I arrived to check in, I was given a room that I was not promised.

The furniture needs to be upgraded and the room online is not what we got the TV in the master bedroom was so small like a 32 inch the fridge shook every time you opened it .. They give you so little towels with cheap tissue but we did enjoy the pools and the food

The manager not helping or showing she was trying to help with minor problems, not being acknowledged by staff especially front desk, not having a balcony as shown in pictures .. again wonderful stay the review let me know what to expect before I got there .. 150 charge they don’t tell you about we’ll see how long that take to release

The property was big and beautiful extremely clean the thing that upset me was me booking one room n getting another then when asked she basically have every excuse instead of trying to make sure everyone was happy on their trip …. The front desk manager with the freckles she was training a lady and that lady didn’t even acknowledge me when I came in but acknowledge the Others WEIRD . I loved my stay upset about no balcony feel like you don’t advertise something if that’s not what you’re providing with every room . But overall clean on the outside some minor mistake by housekeeping in the inside (idk what was up with my utensils none were in the tray just thrown all over draw and lil beads everywhere my 10 month old kept finding, carpet is dirty when you walk so wear shoes) plenty amenities, clean pools drinks are so good didn’t try the food

I will be honest. I read the comments and saw the pictures after we booked and was sooo horrified that our vacation would be a bust. We got to the resort, had a handicap accessible room and it was sooo nice! It was so clean, the bedrooms were comfortable for the 4 of us and it was one of the best vacations we've had. The kids loved the pool and water slide! The management was nice and all was well. We were in the 5002 building. Thank you Calypso and we will be back!
