Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United Statesthe breakfast at Fat Sam's
when I stayed and went to Fat Sam's for breakfast as this was the closet and the hotel did not have breakfast. I was very disappointed. All previous review made it sound great, unfortunately this was not my experience. The food was cold, the oatmeal you could use for wall paper paste, the value was not at all good I would have gotten a better breakfast at McDonalds and I do not eat there

United StatesThe hotel is old, the furniture is old, the linens are older. The shower was weak. The parking lot was small and overfull.
The location, close to Mount Rushmore, was great - as we were staffing for the late show. The price was good (lowest in the area).

United StatesThe location is perfect when visiting Mount Rushmore, which is just 2.3 miles away. There are also other activities around the area like the Tramway Adventures and the President Wax museum. Shops and restaurants are just walking distance from the property. The property is clean and comfortable for a stay!

IsraelThe rooms are a little “tired”. Nothing a good update wouldn’t take care of. The bed was too soft.
The woman in reception was exceptionally nice. The location was perfect. The diner 50 yards away had a great breakfast buffet and wonderful vibe.

United StatesNothing major. Nothing you wouldn't already expect from a budget stay. The carpet throughout in the room was old and worn. The elevator and hallway carpets were dingy and smelled dirty. The room itself was a little musty, but better with the A/C on. The towels were small and rough (very common in mid west hotels). Thin walls. I could hear muffled conversations and kids crying.
Great location close to Mt Rushmore! The park is only about a 6 minute drive away. Stayed here 1 night in mid June to get an early start at Mount Rushmore the following morning. I got a great deal online for a one night stay. This is the closest motel to Mt Rushmore, and one of the cheapest in the whole Custer area. It was a good value for just over $100/night. Very friendly reception. Easy check in and out. Clean, large room with 2 queen beds. Furniture was dated, but ok. Average room and bed comfort for a budget friendly motel in the mid west. Mini fridge in room, but no microwave, which was fine for the price. Hot water, coffee, and a community microwave were available in the lobby 24/7. I think a few items are offered for breakfast, but we left too early to check it out. Elevator (not common in motels in the mid west). Location was great! About a 4 min walk to the Borglum Museum and the outdoor wood chipping/carving art company, Dahl's. We walked another 4 min or so to a small, well-lit strip of stores and restaurants lining both sides of the street. Also close to adventure centers and the 1880's train depot. Coin operated laundromat near the gas station next door. All in all, it was a very adequate budget stay conveniently close to Mt Rushmore. When you book the cheapest room in town, you shouldn't expect amenities or modern decor. But the value for a 1-2 night stay can't be beat.

United StatesWe did not like our Take-Out dinner from Ruby House restaurant in Keystone. They almost forgot 1/3 of our order. The buffalo burgers were charred, the fries were cold, and the sweet potato fries for which we paid extra were missing.
The hotel met my expectations (beds were clean and comfortable) for a budget-friendly hotel near Mount Rushmore. The best thing about the hotel was Julie, the Front Desk attendant, who was very pleasant, patient, and extremely helpful in the midst of a very busy check-in period late in the day. We were delighted to be able to see the lit-up Mount Rushmore from our balcony in the evening. This hotel does not serve breakfast, so we grabbed a great cup of coffee and a delicious peach smoothie from Grapes & Grinds.
