We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United StatesThe rooms are uniquely decorated and renovated. The facility itself is obviously historical. As such, the rooms are not fancy, but are more than adequate. The price tends toward expensive.
The staff were very attentive and helpful. The afternoon wine and art walk were incredible. The location is excellent with access to the walk along the bay and to Bay Street cafes and shops. King Street is an easy walk away.

United StatesWell, the Breakfast snacks were as expected. We needed additional cream for a second cup of coffee. Okay to drink it black. Would be nice if you could offer breakfast service in the adjoining restaurant. It is really not very good for dinner. Not surprised (in retrospect) it was poorly attended. Don't know how they got a high rating. Years ago, when dinner was still in part of your current lobby, the food was exceptional.

The hotel was a very cool and eclectic hotel, in a prime location. The staff were also wonderful and very helpful. It was right in the heart of oldtown, close to the shoreline, and within walking distance of most everything.

United StatesMain lobby has strong smells like cheap air freshener. The staff acted surprised when they didn't have my name at check-in (I booked just an hour earlier on Booking.com). They give you a goodie bag for breakfast each morning (muffin, croissant, fruit, jam), but that is too much sugary carb stuff for my taste.
Free bicycles to borrow. Great location, walkable and bikable to many attractions. Non-chain boutique hotel vibe. Glass of champagne at check-in. Unlimited chilled water bottles in the hallway! Great coffee station in the a.m.
