Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

TurkeyHotel location is very good. We loved the design of the hotel and it was really clean. Team was friendly and helpful. Our only recommendation is abouy breakfast. Adding a savoury option to the menu would be great.

United StatesThe White Swan Inn is a delightful older hotel. A bit like someone's favorite spinster great-aunt, she is showing her age a bit, but in such a way that it only adds to the ambiance. The breakfast/happy hour room is comfy and the breakfast was well presented. The White Swan reminded me very many of hotels I have stayed in in Europe. A hotel snob who wants everything to be "state of the art" might be disappointed, but I was more than pleased. The functional fireplace in the room (gas insert) added a lovely touch.

SpainThe pillows were hard and thick. Could have used reading lights by chair and couch.
Good breakfast, nice to have homemade oatmeal. Room was spacious and comfortable. Decor was unique and fun. Windows could be opened and shades made the room nice and dark.

United StatesWelcoming cosy downstairs lobby has 2 fireplaces, decaf and tasty fullcaf coffee, nice tea selection, wine hour at 5, so restorative after big city day. Cosy vibe a nice change from the cool, soul-less, minimalist airport look so popular nowadays. Hotel preserved a lot of authentic SF doors, handles, layout, feels like staying in a real SF apartment. Big comfy king room, with tub. Fresh coffee with real milk, Oatmeal with lots of tasty toppings for breakfast works for me, so all good on that front.

United StatesIt’s a little funky, more shabby than chic. But for the price and location It’s not a huge deal.

United KingdomThe lift (elevator) honestly felt like a hazard, I only used it when I absolutely had to moving luggage. The coffee machine in the room left a lot to be desired but there is 24/7 tea/coffee downstairs. The windows were a bit grubby and my curtains were ripped in places which ruined the vibe of an otherwise beautiful room.
A really charming British themed inn in the heart of San Francisco. Location is great and as a solo female traveller, I never felt unsafe in the area. There are also some great places to eat just a few minutes away (Uncle Vitos and Pinterest Diner). Peacekeeper is also great for drinks. My room was absolutely huge (little kitchen area, large fireplace, bathroom with tub and dressing room with clothes storage). The bed was really comfortable and I felt really at home my whole stay. The lounge area was lovely and it was nice to be able to sit there with a coffee or some wine and cheese! I’d stay again.

United StatesIt’s on Nob Hill—anywhere you walk will involve a steep hill either going or returning.
Very attractive, quiet, and comfortable common area for relaxing. Good continental breakfast in morning—above average pastries. Very nice wine and cheese service in evening. Friendly staff. Secure. Small so not a lot of noise or foot traffic.

United StatesThe breakfast was just OK... not terrible but I would have loved a few more options. Everything else met expectations.
This was a great value in the middle of San Francisco. Usually places are either really expensive or really run down. The White Swan was cozy, clean, personal, and a great value. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

United StatesSorry, see above. I loved the cozy room and fireplace for warmth in the am and the fan to circulate air in the pm.
When we arrived in our room it was dark and we fumbled to find and turn on the lamp. The second lamp didn’t work. I wish there were more horizontal places to put our stuff in the bedroom and the bathroom. Every morning when getting ready, I put my toiletries on my bed and ran back and forth from bathroom to bed for toothbrush/toothpaste, facial scrub, brush etc.
