Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe room was a little sticky from humidity but I think it was just the weather and not anything you can change.
Loved the proximity to downtown. We grew up in Bar Harbor and unfortunately our house no longer exists so we had to stay in a hotel while on the island this time and I loved the ability to walk right into town from there and not have to deal with parking during the height of the season.

United StatesToo much extra furniture in the room.
The room was clean and bathroom updated. The size of the room was fine but there was too many extra chairs that were clunky and in the way. One would have sufficed. Great location and amenities. We went to breakfast one morning and was great too.

United StatesThe location is excellent, right outside downtown. The Island Explorer shuttle makes regular stops there, so you don't really need a car to get around the town and Acadia. While the rooms and amenities are sufficient, it's the location that adds the most value to your experience.

United StatesThe only complaint would be the shower water pressure. It seemed like we lacked water pressure if our neighbor was using their water at the same time. I also wish our bathroom had a fan. It got very steamy in there after showering
The housekeeper kept our room stocked with coffee, towels, toilet paper, and cups! The hotel was a short 20 minute walk from down town Bar Harbor and a 15 minute drive to Acadia!

United StatesRoom was comfortable but shower took a long time to get hot water to flow.. overall the room was nice and clean, but found it to be expensive for the value received.
Beautiful grounds and excellent location near Acadia Natl Park. Property had good amenities on site including a guest laundry .

United StatesBalconies could have been separated by a wall.
Our room was facing the playground which was quiet during our stay. The location is good - easy to get to restaurants and not far from Cadillac Summit. Room is dated, but clean and bathroom looked newly renovated.

United StatesNeeds an exhaust fan in the bathroom since the window can't open; room felt a little damp after showers because of this. Could use some hooks to hang towels on as well.
We enjoyed the amenities available at the sister inn, Bluenose, nextdoor.. Got good use out of the heated indoor pool and hot tub since it was raining off and on; the piano room was nice to come back, relax, and play a board game after being in Acadia (got a couple martinis our last night and they were enjoyable). Saw a deer walking back to our room one evening. We appreciated the proximity to Acadia and Bar Harbor. Just a few minutes drive to either. Saw the Island Explorer bus stop right outside though we didn't utilize. Good size room with table/chairs, fridge/microwave and we liked the view from our window (room 28 looked directly out into the trees). Was overcast basically our entire trip, but I did walk up to the terrace and saw that the views would be amazing. *Side note: highly recommend eating at the Happy Clam. Particularly liked the softshell lobsters with corn and butter

United StatesThe only complaint I would have is that the cleaning staff did not come by every day to replenish the coffee, towels and empty the trash ( which we had to do almost every day).
When we booked the room, we understood that there was no view other than the backyard. Room was nice and comfortable. Everything we needed was there, blow dryer & mini fridge. Since we were just basically using the room for sleeping it was perfect.

United StatesThe first room we were booked in was not acceptable for the cost and our expectations, however the front desk staff , the man working at that time, made sure we had a great room and made all the necessary arrangements to ensure our comfort.
The room was comfortable, the view was spectacular and the breakfast was great.

United StatesOur room was at the end of the Wonder View section. It was a great one. The Wonder View was situated at the top of a small hill inside the compound, and really, the View was great. The room was big enough for the four of us. The hotel had a Great Room where they have books and board games for the family to play with. There is also a pianist playing most of the week nights. The Business Center gave my boys another place to quietly spend their time when it's raining outside. Laundry room was clean and well-maintained. The staffs were always friendly. Overall, a wonderful experience.

United States1. NEED Darkening curtain over the blinds , especially in the summer, the sunlight went through among the blinds very early 2. IMPORTANT : "connecting" room door needs Sound Barrier, we heard every single word what room #26 was saying. 3. Balcony partition was TOO LOW. Need higher partition for more privacy 4. The AC didn't work so well 5. Instruction to get the Room KEY was confusing or NOT CLEAR
Clean Room and bathroom . Corner room with wrapped around windows make the room very bright, also in the morning (facing East). Mini Fridge and microwave were a plus Nice balcony, nice amenities from BBB, great mattress n comforter The Heater worked fine Enjoyed the complimentary coffee and tea at the lobby

United StatesVery small room with no counter space in the bathroom and no space to really move around in. Also a bug negative for me was only one trash in the room and it was located in the bathroom… not ideal
The property itself was really nice. The grounds of the hotel were beautiful. The room was clean. We came with our dog so and we were able to leave her in the room alone so we didn’t get a chance to use the restaurant or go down the the bar so I cannot speak on that.
