Incredible ryokan experience! We loved the tranquil scenery which overlooked Lake Biwa. Breakfast and dinner were exceptional and traditional. We stayed two nights and the meals were never repeated. We loved the in room outdoor onsen overlooking the lake and the massage chair was a nice touch. A very relaxing stay. The staff was very friendly and really tried to speak English to us. We had no communication barriers. Will definitely return and highly recommend this ryokan. Very memorable experience.

We loved the traditional structure and clean rooms, as well as the small shops and restaurants on the nearby Hikone Castle Road although many were closed on Tuesday, our arrival day. In the morning I heard the ancient, resonant bell at the castle announcing the 6 AM hour. The feeling was a memory I will always hold dear.

Historic property. Lovely interiors. Because of its age, it doesn’t have in suite bathrooms. There is a nice onsen which was very welcome as we were here in Feb and it was cold and snowy.

Our room was wonderful. The amenities were thoughtful and high quality. The host was extremely friendly and treated us to a tour of beautiful Nagahama.
Experience culture authentically with a stay at these traditional Japanese-style accommodations. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath, plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
Excellent stay at this beautiful guest house during our cycle around Lake Biwa! It's an absolute gem of a place. The property itself is very well maintained, with traditional features throughout (such as the tatami room and the Kotatsu in the living room). The owners were extremely friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we had a comfortable stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would love to come back! Highly recommended.
Host was hospitable and friendly. Onsen usually closed in the morning but he offered to open upon request from 6am to 8am. Room was clean and spacious.
Everything about our stay is perfect. This Ryokan is full of character. Great hospitality from the owner - they are very friendly and made sure our stay was comfortable and provided good dinner recommendations. Having an onsen in the ryokan is a huge bonus - this is probably the highlight of our stay. Authentic Japanese breakfast served. The location is near the train station making sites around Lake Biwa accessible. We're so glad we stayed here.
I met the owner, Iki, who was very friendly and accommodating. Her house is lovely with all the facilities that we need. It has parking spot that can fit 2 MPVs. The house has good heater system (we went in winter), washer, tatami & beds, kitchen for us to cook with basic appliances. The location is about 10-15mins away from the Hakodateyama Gondola (our main target was Mt Hakodateyama to play snow). The house was easy to find as per the google map's direction.
Wonderful experience in a traditional house in a deep mountain of Japan. The dinner and breakfast were exceptional, prepared and presented with care and love. We rented a car to get here and visited nearby small towns for shopping. The onsen nearby has good facilities, and the quality of the water was excellent.
Strongly recommend if you wish to experience a traditional Japanese living and hospitality.
I stayed here while biking around lake biwa. The dinner was delicious and the onsen felt great after a day of biking! The owner was kind and gifted me keychains and candy 🥹 Thank you very much 🙏
