Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ItalyRoom a bit dark both during day and night. Walls are thin and ceilings open, so you need to rely on the good behavior of your neighbors. Road to the property is a bit bumpy but totally doable with a 2WD
Immerse in nature and well integrated into the surroundings. Spectacular view from the common balcony upstairs. Nice room with mosquito net provided

ItalyToo many bugs around. Bed was not comfortable. Fans of the next door rooms are very noisy especially at night so you cannot really enjoy the sound of the nature.
The common areas are very beautiful and surrounded by nature.

United StatesThe triple room downstairs had a mildew smell. Poor ventilation. The other Reims were nice but lacked privacy. You could hear every sound from the neighbors.
Great atmosphere, it felt like a treehouse. I liked the community kitchen. Good traveler vibe.

Loved the wildness of the location and the open style of the hostel. Was exceptionally clean and well organized. Great kitchen facilities, with lots of room and appliances for many groups cooking. No shortages of pots, pans, and dishes. There were lots of tables for sitting at and many other places for just chillaxing.

United KingdomThe beds were not that comfortable. I highly recommend a car if you stay here as the journey up the hill is challenging in the heat! Also utiva is quite spread out so getting place to place is abit difficult. There are loads of taxis you can get but they can be quite expensive!
This place is absolutely stunning! I loved yoga on the top deck overlooking the jungle. I highly recommend it! The staff were incredible and so friendly and will help you with tours and knowlege of the area! There are some beautiful waterfalls right near the hostel which are a must! This place is very chilled, a perfect jungle getaway! I saw monkeys, humming birds and a toucan! One of the best places I've ever stayed.

NetherlandsThe kitchen was a bit small and became crowded really fast.
The atmosphere was really nice, we felt welcome and safe. The common room has a lot of little seats and places to chill or to socialize. You are surrounded by nature and the view was spectacular which added to the experience. The staff was super friendly and helpful with any questions. We had a private room downstairs which was alright bit smaller then we expected but it had air-conditioning which was great as it got quite humid.

NetherlandsWe thought 5 person dorm could have done with 1 bed less. There was a hostel volunteer in our room who seemed to have taken up all the storage space by herself. Our dorm was on the first floor, it was quite noisy and lights from hall and toilet kept waking me up. Also the building is shaky when people walk around. Location is not great if you don't drive yourself, far from town, bus stop and beaches (not impossible, we walked everywhere).
Beautiful hostel run by lovely people. Decent size kitchen and lovely views all around. Staff can help you with tours and other information. They sell few bits and pieces which is quite useful if you would arrive late or feeling lazy. Nice waterfalls just around the corner.

CanadaOops. See above
The fact that the bed could only be accessed from one side and had a mosquito net made two people getting in and out a bit of a challenge. As advertised, privacy was scarce. Otherwise a great facility.

ItalyIf you need a place near the beach this could be not the best choice
I'm absolutely enamored with this charming Costa Rican hostel. Surrounded by enchanting jungle vibes, the breathtaking sunset views create a magical atmosphere. Initially planning just one night, I ended up extending my stay to three, captivated by the warm and helpful staff. Their assistance allowed me to witness whales and explore Corcovado Park, an unexpected delight due to time constraints. Conveniently, a direct bus to the San Jose airport facilitated a hassle-free departure on my last day. Though I yearned for more time to bask in the tranquility and surroundings, this hostel is a haven for nature lovers seeking peace, even if it means being away from the beach. I dream of returning one day – highly recommended.

United KingdomI think there could perhaps be some sort of shuttle service provided from the centre of town. But there is so much to like about this place, I am being nit picky!
I love the atmosphere and architecture. Its like a big treehouse and so peaceful. There is so much thought put into your experience. You are provided with towels and there are beers, snacks and basic food necessities on sale so you dont have to walk to the shops if you are tired and hungry. Many people (like me) arrive and decide that 2 nights is not enough!

CanadaEvery hostel seems to have "that guy" unfortunately I had a bit of a verbal bust up and argument with "that guy" but I can't blame the hostel for accommodating a drunk, egotistical narcissist. All the other guests were lovely.

United StatesThe common area has no fan, and during the day, at times, it was really hard to enjoy because you are sweating buckets. I asked the employees but they had no extra fans. Couple of the hammocks were very loose, so you feel like you are going to fall or going to touch the ground. The kitchen had no microwave. If you want to warm up something, you have to use the pan. The pans are plenty but they are all really been overused. The kitchen has two ranges to cook, but they are next to each other, so the cooking area with even three people can get very congested. If you do not need to cook, just cut veggies then there is a lot of counter space. Most people were cooking and so it was hot, sweaty and congested in the small area where the two cooking ranges are. The water kettle to make tea is "household size", and it will be better if it is moved to next to coffee, so there is more space. In the morning, there was a toaster but by afternoon I believe, they were moved to locked kitchen area (which was reserved for staff). There was oil and salt available, no black pepper or any other spice. The fridge was over filled and you can not keep anything in the fridge door. The day of fridge cleaning, your stuff will be moved and can be scattered, so you will have to look again for your stuff inside the fridge. They have cats and a dog. The cats goes on top of the table, which I did not like. You are eating food and the cat jumps next to your food - sorry pets need to stay on ground and not on the couch or tables. There were books on a bookshelf but those books were extremely dusty, perhaps moldy and had small bugs. I think the three things that they can easily do to make the stay phenomenal: 1. Have at least microwave 2. Install fans outside or have portable fans outside. 3. Have a white board where guests can write/share the taxi ride to town or other places and staff can use for announcements.
I stayed in the dorm in November. The weather was hot and there were no mosquitos. The dorm room had one fan which helped rotate the air. The nights were pleasant. Some of the beds had lamps, other beds did not had lamps and they did not had any extra lamps. It wasn't busy, so I chose the bed with the lamp. There was a mosquito net for every bed but the net had many holes, thankfully no bugs/mosquitoes. The common area is very open and gives you a tree/jungle like feeling. There are hammocks and chairs and couch etc to sit and enjoy the view. You will like to lie down and read a book (bring your own book t read). The internet works mostly for whatsapp in the common area but not in the dorm area. The kitchen, room and bathrooms were clean. There was warm water for shower. The shower by the entrance, reception area had enough hooks to hang stuff and a plastic stool to keep your things. Shower pressure was medium, not too bad but not at all strong. You take your own toiletries but they give you towel. You can not do your own laundry. They do your laundry and everything goes in both waster, dryer. I asked them for one load of laundry - whoever folded the clothes, did not know how to fold the clothes properly. The dining area is attractive and decent size. Most people were cooking and/or making smoothies. The coffee was available but no creamer/milk. I am not sure about the sugar. There was blender and people were making smoothies. The common areas were clean. The volunteers and staff were really good.
