Carpets in hallways are very old and need to be changed. Third day housekeeping forgot about both our rooms. We constantly asking for towels or water or soap refill.

Location amazing. Staff very nice. Rent a car on premises.

I opted for this hotel because of the beautiful pool pics and hot tub but I never got to use it. There were so many children in the jacuzzi daily at one point I counted 12 (between the ages of 5-7) unfortunately, the pool was so cold it just didn't work for a vacation in March. The rooms are mid, I feel like I can stay elsewhere for much cheaper with equal quality. Staff was great though really really nice people.

Staff was great and the ocean view was nice.

Rooms really basic for price we paid Bathroom not great as was in the room and very small! Cleaning in the lifts wasn’t great and could do with a revamp with the horrendous dirty carpets throughout Hotel very expensive to eat and drink Breakfast options not great! Based on Asian customers didn’t really fancy rice for breakfast

Walls are extremely thin. We kept hearing the people’s sliding door open and close above us. Also heard the people next door making love through the connected door between our rooms. The finishes already feel dirty and worn down, for a 4-5 star resort the rooms didn’t feel to that standard. Also toward the end of our trip the TV firmware became outdated so we could cast our devices to the TV at night. I think it’s a little overpriced for the room quality but obviously you’re paying for the location and amenities.

The pool was amazing with lots of loungers and couches to find a spot to relax. The restaurants on site are delicious. We ate at momosan and their ribs were delicious. I also liked that there is a rental car service in the hotel and they deliver the car right to valet. Very hassle free drop off as well. Location was great, easy to walk to all that Waikīkī has to offer! We were there for the Honolulu festival beginning of march and the hotel had a great view of the fireworks!

The bathroom was ridiculously small for a 5 star hotel. The fridge in our room didn’t work , was replaced and that also didn’t work. the longboard club wasn’t worth the money, they only had 2 types of beer and tap only, small selection of food and nothing amazing for the price.

    The view was good

The pool wasn’t heated, the WiFi didn’t work the first half of the 11 days we were there, we were never able to cast on to the TV from our Apple devices, there was construction at the pool for 3 days, causing us (disabled) to have to go to the other tower to get to the pool. Parking and resort fees are exorbitant !

The proximity to the beach, the mattresses! The location of our room to the pool (when it was open); laundry facilities on the 5th floor. The concierge was very helpful!

We needed to stay in Hawaii for a few days on our return from SE Asia and chose this property for its convenient location to the beach (we didn't rent a car). Our room was spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable. It is just a very short walk to Waikiki Beach (less that 5 minutes) We had a view of the beach from our room. Very conveniently located to all the shopping and restaurants. The Honolulu Zoo is just down the street (I recommend the zoo). Waikiki can be expensive, but this property was a good value.

Check in process involved third party booking and there was a issue when I checked in causing me to wait excessive amt. of time when we were tired and needed to shower and eat. Bedding was inadequate and the way the beds are made, it allowed my bedding to come loose and my mattress cover kept coming loose when I tossed and turned while trying to sleep.

Aquarium, friendliness of staff, manager who assisted us. Well- oiled valet staff was excellent

Disappointing for the cost of the stay

The bathroom was seriously disappointing for a “5 star” hotel, the toilet was wedged between the vanity and the bath/shower (everything was within reach sitting on the toilet, it was that small)and never have I ever had a kettle in the bathroom to boil water for tea, super unhygienic considering the size of the bathroom. The bedroom itself didn’t have a cozy feel to it. The longboard club was not worth the money, the breakfast is over priced at $40USD pp and the beer option for the afternoon was limited to 2 on tap and they weren’t great. The canapés also were not worth the effort.

The view from the room was the highlight and the aircon worked well.

They charged our credit card again several days after leaving, and despite querying twice, I'm yet to hear anything back. The booking.com charges paid included Resort fees and taxes, but the hotel seems to have charged us again for these after we left, and no account or back-up has been sent relating to the charges. Also, we had a second room for our sons, and were a bit shocked about the total we charged up-front in case of incidentals, it would have been good to know in advance how much would be required for this.

The location, views from our rooms and facilities were all great. The restaurant staff at Swell/L5 were friendly and helpful.
